Haha that’s how I feel about my switch to Apple Music from Amazon Music.

I also made the mistake of having caffeine late last night and so I stayed up and watched the first episode of Carrie which I have been anticipating because of how much I enjoy Mike Flanagan's work. It was great and unfortunately I won't be able to watch more until probably next week.

Anyway, all this to say I read a book early this week, Lady X by Molly Fader, and I just really loved it. In fact, I didn't read yesterday because I'm still sort of "living' in that world. It was just truly great for female rage but also female friendship. So a rec! I felt it was timely for me.

I've been reading a lot lately and it's great. I used to be a very avid reader, I had a book blog for years, but due to very stressful work, phone addiction, and review burnout from aforementioned blog, I was averaging like 10 books a year for five years there.

Saw Digger last night. I did not want to see it, but my friend did and we both have Regal Unlimited. Regal gave us a free Imax upgrade, so we went. It surprised me. A different sort of film. Won't be my favorite of the year or anything, but something I'm glad I saw.

I always liked the container theory, like if it can't fit in the drawer it has to go because there isn't actually room for it.

there are moral arguments against the death penalty in its ideal form but in real life you never need to get there. the prior question is "can the state be trusted to end the life only of the rightly convicted without torture?" and the answer is no

Doesn't it become law if he doesn't do anything? Or do I misunderstand how it works?

Omg this is my little MAGA area of CA. I deeply believe in the regenerative ag movement but unforch it is often tied to the raw milk movement which terrifies me.

I really like and am impressed by Olivia but came by that by way of her originally being from my area and the Robert Smith collab, I rarely get into new music. 😆. But I was also surprised when I saw she won for best alternative and I pay minimal attention to that stuff.

Yes award shows are weird and I wouldn’t take them seriously. Like it’s always fun when it seems like they get something right but it also doesn’t matter when they don’t. Did you feel the other nominees were more “alternative?”

I have a heavy fundraising lift. I am trying to raise $40,000 for REBUILD to help keep it going: www.mightycause.com/story/Rebuil... There's so much to say about the people who are being supported through this program. I co-founded it and am an advisor. I believe in this work.

It's messed up that they'd be put in that position, but that's why it is important to take a stand. If you let people walk all over you, well they'll do just that. I'm sympathetic to the fact that it's difficult. But his comments didn't seem to warrant this reaction.

Some folks will claim that this is hyperbolic, but what I wish people would understand is that tech initiatives like this serve as a means of eroding consent and lower the barrier for the persistent capture of people’s image, voice, data, or whatever else a gadget can glean.
