Mithradates @mithradatesvi.bsky.social · 29/09/2026The firm got an expensive new AI toolset and I’m tasked with trying it out. I am feeling *very* safe about the immediate future of my job, y’all. They touted its ability to write legal pleadings, so I asked it to draft a reply. It took OC’s position. Wrote a whole memo taking their side. 110
Mithradates @mithradatesvi.bsky.social · 29/09/2026A thought that came to me on the edge of sleep: a back scratcher would be a good Christmas gift for a centaur. Those hind quarters must be impossible to reach. 020
Mithradates @mithradatesvi.bsky.social · 29/09/2026I wonder how much of “taxi for your burrito” culture is driven by the apparent cultural taboo among (largely younger) people against eating out solo. 011
Mithradates @mithradatesvi.bsky.social · 28/09/2026Reading NYT’s list of the 100 greatest TV shows of the 21sr century. These lists are always navel gazing but… I think these reviewers and I have similar navels. I read backwards from 1 and got into the 20s before it hit a show I seriously disagreed with. 120
Mithradates @mithradatesvi.bsky.social · 26/09/2026I was talking to my mother about this. She was horrified that millennials would cut off parents, which she thought was inconceivable. This woman was literally sued by her own father over land he wanted back. And I had to tell her, if she ever did the same… it’s over between us. 171

Mithradates @mithradatesvi.bsky.social · 17/09/2026I know nothing at all about software development, so this has been fun to tool around with. I evaluated the first phase after a week of operating. Mithradates @mithradatesvi.bsky.social · 17/09/2026One surprise for me as a parent is that Little Bit often *doesn’t* share my foibles and hangups. They worked in tiny steps, I almost didn’t realize how it was adding up to playing anything at all. And then this week, suddenly the curtain opens and like… that’s recognizably guitar playing. 150

Mithradates @mithradatesvi.bsky.social · 23/08/2026I’ve said this before, but it is shocking that there is not a single usable “plex for books” app. Approximately 20 million weekend programmers have taken a shot at it, and every single one either has a beautiful UI that cannot successfully retrieve a single book, or is a sin against eyes. 230
