This is pretty subjective but I'm actually really glad Deadlock's characters are attractive. Too many games now fall down the rabbit hole of making safe, generic characters (Overwatch) that tick boxes, or just making painfully ugly characters, and Deadlock has done neither.

Valve remains a pillar in game design because Deadlock is straight up made without any care for engagement metrics. It's legitimately a game made with the same freedom as the most complex, foundational mods of the 2000's, but with the budget and dedication of genre defining games of the years too.

Deadlock is awesome because it's not a game you can just larp with by reading a wiki and reposting the same unfunny memes over and over. Playing the game is actually the most central part to people's enjoyment of it which repulses like 90% of insufferable redditor types.
