Tob @misselbrookaudio.bsky.social · 21/07/2025I love seeing these design/bug fixing processes 😄 awesome stuff! 010
Tob @misselbrookaudio.bsky.social · 07/07/2025Hey~! I’m gonna be at Develop on Wednesday and Thursday this week! Who else is gonna be there? 🙋♂️ I’d love to chat about #IndieGameDev and see the cool stuff you’re all working on 😄 061
Tob @misselbrookaudio.bsky.social · 06/07/2025Less of a focus on realism/hyper-realism, which I suppose would have been because of limitations at the time, but I feel like it produced so many uniquely stylised games. That’s what draws me to indie games these days! 110
Tob @misselbrookaudio.bsky.social · 02/07/2025Ooh I always find UI sounds so difficult. They’re the biggest offender for liking the sound in the DAW but hating it in game 😆 Generally a fun challenge though! No doubt that cat pics will help 🐈 110
Tob @misselbrookaudio.bsky.social · 23/06/2025Interesting! One of those things that I've never even considered 😅 Looking good! Digging the visual style. 000

Tob @misselbrookaudio.bsky.social · 19/06/2025Wow this looks fantastic~ 😄 The atmosphere, the visuals, and the gameplay looks so responsive and satisfying too! 110
Tob @misselbrookaudio.bsky.social · 16/06/2025They all look so drinkable 🤤 I love the colours on bottom right. I’d say that’s my second favourite behind apple 🍎 010
Tob @misselbrookaudio.bsky.social · 15/06/2025Oh man yeah this is gold! Thanks for the link Damian, excited to jump down this rabbit hole 😄 010
Tob @misselbrookaudio.bsky.social · 15/06/2025It's one of the things that inspires me the most when working on games. And as a player, this kind of world-building really draws me in. I don't know how many times I've been up at 2am reading the Trivia/Lore section of the Terraria wiki. Steam doesn't track those hours. 060
Tob @misselbrookaudio.bsky.social · 15/06/2025At my previous job I was so excited when I found wiki articles and YouTube videos/comments discussing and theory-crafting about the mob sounds I made on Minecraft Dungeons. (Fans of the franchise talking about the lore implications of the sounds my throat made. How cool is that?) 160
Tob @misselbrookaudio.bsky.social · 15/06/2025Plus the methods for executing this are endless - Simple suggestive sound design? Great. Hiding codes in sound spectral data? Incredibly fun. LACK of sound?? (I always found it super eerie how Khezu didn't have a musical theme when I played Monster Hunter on the PSP). 130
Tob @misselbrookaudio.bsky.social · 15/06/2025It's such a fantastic way to engage the community and immerse them in your game world. Players love to find secrets, and when information is incomplete, they love to try piecing the puzzle together themselves. 150
Tob @misselbrookaudio.bsky.social · 15/06/2025"Does the end-game boss sound kinda similar to the mysterious relic at the centre of the first village, or am I just imagining it?" "Why is the character's voice different when they use the Corrupted Dagger weapon?" (random examples) 130
Tob @misselbrookaudio.bsky.social · 15/06/2025One of the best feelings as a game sound designer is when the game's community engages with the sounds you've designed. Games with rich lore offer so much opportunity for fun and intriguing sound design. It's a great way to reinforce the world-building and tease at hidden secrets 160

Tob @misselbrookaudio.bsky.social · 08/05/2025Man a Joonas Turner podcast would probably be the one podcast I listen to. Love seeing your process/breakdowns on Youtube! Your sound design style is so fantastic too. I'd love to hear more about the thoughts/decisions that goes into it! I'll keep following the socials/Youtube channel for now 😄 110

Tob @misselbrookaudio.bsky.social · 29/12/2024I really enjoyed how the music jumped between jovial and tense as the first team went around the circle. And the song that plays when Gi-hun's team goes round the circle is a legendary Korean 80s pop song. Really famous for sports/cheer leading in Korea. I think it's a fun choice for the context^^ 120

Tob @misselbrookaudio.bsky.social · 10/12/2024But in my view FMOD encourages creativity and expression in a way that Wwise doesn’t. Each event is treated individually and the interface makes it much easier to add parameters & effects. It’s like the focus is on the sound design/interactivity while Wwise’s focus is on organisation and structure. 210
Tob @misselbrookaudio.bsky.social · 10/12/2024I think FMOD has historically been the “indie middleware” because it had friendlier pricing, but I don’t believe that’s the case anymore 🤔 Wwise handles larger teams nicely because work units play well with source control, and the hierarchical structure lends itself well to large, scalable projects 120
Tob @misselbrookaudio.bsky.social · 30/11/2024Hello~! Game sound designer based in Sheffield here 😄 would love to be added 100
Tob @misselbrookaudio.bsky.social · 23/11/2024Any sound design peeps that could share some tips about multiband compression? It's been a bit of a blind spot for me until now, but I picked up Fabfilter's Pro MB in the sales recently. When do you find yourself reaching for MB compression and how do you typically use it? #gameaudio #sounddesign 4101
