The Critically Endangered Waved Albatross is one of the stars of the Galápagos Islands, though to see this magnificent species you will probably need to visit Española. Thanks to the Peru Current, the Waved Albatross nests exclusively on Isla Española & Isla La Plata (off the continent) & is basically the only albatross species nearly restricted to the tropics. With this distribution they are vulnerable to El Niño events causing nesting failure, fisheries bycatch, invasive species & other threats.

It's incredibly hard to learn under high stress & Ahmed is doing his best despite the worst of circumstances.
