One of the most interesting things about #WowForever that has made a difference in my enjoyment of the game world is better ambient sound. There are wind sound effects now in Elwynn and Westfall, and more ambient chatter sounds in Stormwind. Why that makes such a difference to me, I dunno, but […]

I'd started kind of live-posting my experience over on Bluesky, and then I forgot that that's sort of my "main" social media and most folks don't care about that kind of stuff. So I'm prolly gonna do it over here. Mute #WoWForever if it will annoy you. :)

So the main thing in life I'm enjoying right now is the beta test for World of Warcraft Forever, which is kind of the last thing I expected to enjoy. Life's funny that way. 😂

I haven't reached out to my Mastodon people in a while. So: tell me one really good thing about your recent life. (If you've got nothing, wait until you do, and then tell me.)

Okay, just when I think game devs have just stopped making the type of games I like, along comes Blood of Dawnwalker.

@Sempf Help an old lady out: what does "beta" mean in this context? 😂

I definitely want to start making gaming videos again. But which game? My personal favorites change so often...

I'm seeing her as a bit naive and idealistic (at least at the start) so it can't have been a scandal or anything... hmmmm...

I'm leaning strongly toward her being groomed for a career as a diplomat. I haven't quite sorted out why she ends up breaking rocks instead.

I know she's going to be a United Colonies native, raised relatively privileged, but then [somethingsomething] and she ends up working a crap mining job and worrying the heck out of her doting parents. And then it just gets worse and more dangerous from there. 🤣 Open to any ideas about her fall […]

Just thinking out loud about this. I have a general idea for the backstory and personality of my starfarer, as well as the path through the game she'll take, but I'm not sure how long each video should be, what I should include/leave out, etc.

Mishell Baker gladly @mishellbaker.wandering.shop.ap.brid.gy · 03/09/2026

Okay, friendos, I'm thinking of doing some gaming videos again - this time of Starfield, of all things. Kind of in the general vein of that Skyrim Grandma who just wanders through the world vibing and making up little stories about my guy.

The driving force behind the #Quillblades is the connection of their golden-haired elven wizard to Oghma, god of knowledge. Cogi, a naive and nerdy young (for a high elf) man brought up in Oghma's temple, receives occasional visions that drive the party's quests. The latest is something to do […]

A sort of Dramatis Personae of the #Quillblades is in order, to begin with.... The front man of the group is Lord Barrett Horne, an ebullient paladin known colloquially as "The Owlbear of Oakhurst" due to his saving of said town or, behind his back, "the orc lord." Because he is... an orc […]

When my 16yo was seven, she self-added the ice caps to mars and the ring to Uranus on a school coloring page.

A coloring page that says "NEW LA IS OUT OF THIS WORLD" and shows the planets of the solar system. All are colored accurately, with a ring hand-drawn onto Uranus and white spaces left on Mars for ice caps. The word "world" is colored in the same green and blue as Earth.

Still lots of tulips blooming like these deep purple variety backed by purple creeping phlox flowers in a friend's garden. #flowers #FlowerPhotography #BloomScrolling #gardening #nature #NaturePhotography #photography #AltText

Photograph of a small grouping of five dark purple tulips with out of focus tulips, green tulip foliage, brown leaves and a carpet of light purple creeping phlox flowers in the background. The view is from above and to the side of the tulips revealing the upper portions of the flowers' interiors. Tulips have long green leaves as well as a tall, green, slender, and stiff stems. The flower extends upward from the stem and has three overlapping petals interior to three overlapping sepals all radiating from and forming a cup around the center containing six stamens with anthers and a pistil with stigma. This variety has dark purple petals, six pale green stamens with dark purple anthers, and a pale green pistil with a pale green stigma.

I started this over a year ago as a "bucket list" thing, wanting to be a DnD Dungeon Master just once before I shuffled off this mortal coil. And the group's been carrying on ever since, and I'm not really any sicker. So!

Is it ridiculous for me to be starting a long DnD campaign when I have incurable cancer? Probably! Is there a nonzero chance I'm going to continue being healthier than anyone has any explanation for, for longer than makes any sense? Most definitely!

My "learn to Dungeon Master" practice #DnD #dnd5e campaign is over after more than a year, and next weekend I'm launching the first in a trilogy of adventures with five amazing players. Once the group picks a name I'll make a hashtag for it if you wanna follow (or mute) the saga. :)
