IMPERFECT SCIENCE, Page 1:

An overhead shot of a crater with a building perched on its edge. There is some smoking wreckage on the opposite side of the crater and several figures stand in the center. The following panel is a slightly zoomed-in version of the same scene except viewed through a thermal camera or something similar: the figures in the crater are lit up white against the dark ground.

A wide shot establishes them as a group of lean, dark colored mechs. Several of them seem to be assembling some sort of canon, another is crouched, and another stands and looks into the distance.

“All units, in position. We have visual on the research outpost.”

“Sir!” One of the mechs interjects, addressing the one standing above them, “Got something on the sensors, it’s approaching fast!”

A two-shot of the two mechs, as the leader asks, “Another patrol?”

“Negative, just one signature–”

“It’s her!!”

A low angle shot of another mech, much bulkier, standing on the edge of the crater with the sun at her back. It’s the HIPPOLITA, the one mech they didn’t want to see today.

“Heyy, I knew there would be more of you skulking around!” She says, and we see her launch herself forward down the rim of the crater as the leader of the party of smaller mechs, who shouts, “Weapons ready on my mark!!!” before Hippolita slams into it, grabbing her directly by the head and knocking it clean off its feat.

“Sorry to interrupt your fun!”

IMPERFECT SCIENCE, Page 3:

We see both pilots glaring at each other from two panels on opposite sides of the page. On the left, the pilot of the larger mech wears a visor over her eyes and seems to be suspended in some kind of liquid, whereas the pilot on the right has some kind of gas mask or muzzle over the lower half of its face and is seated in a more traditional cockpit. Between them, the larger mech stands tall, holding the leader of the opposing mechs by its head almost like how you might scruff a kitten.

“That outpost was evacuated hours ago, you assholes are wasting your time.” Says the pilot of the Hippolita.

“Who says we’re here for the outpost?” The other pilot responds, and there is a small insert panel where we see the two of them in thermal vision, a reticle directly over them.

The bottom half of the page just shows the two mechs barely visible as an explosion engulfs both of them.

“Ah, fuck.”

A friend DM'd me one of the most mindmeltingly hot iseas for a mechsplo fic I've EVER heard it's INCREDIBLE oh my GOD y'all need to see this (shared with permission!!)

A handler gets captured by a rebel pilot who's secretly a massive sub and finds the idea of being a hound really hot

she arranges to be the one to interrogate the handler, who is very arrogant about how there is nothing they can threaten her with or offer her.

a sequence of interrogation sessions ensues where the pilot is actually the one who gets broken (i am neither kinky enough nor familiar enough with the genre to do that justice). early on in the process she lets slip that there's a codephrase that will get the handler out but she'll never reveal it.

at the moment she's truly, fully broken and the light leaves her eyes, she gestures to the handler to come close. the handler saunter over, enjoying her triumph, and bends down to listen. and then the pilot whispers "safeword", and a speech-activates implant releases a fast-acting paralytic into the handler's bloodstream as the pilot calmly gets up and gets dressed and walks out of the room and thanks her for a good time.

"did you like that? that little taste of control? that's the most you can ever hope for now. would you like to feel it again?"

OH HOLY FUCKING SHIT

then i guess you could spin it out as an extended cat and mouse thing over a few chapters where it's never totally clear who really has the upper hand, eventually it could have a more traditional bad ending as the pilot actually starts to sink into the role, or a bad ending for the handler where she basically just ends up as pet service top for the pilot.

warming up with a pilot and some extremely vibes-based perspective. my default is usually a dry cockpit for my mechs but a thing i’m working on will involve some breathable goo type cockpits so at some point I should work out what that looks like for me
