Now, I think this is an opportunity just like 1932 was an opportunity. We can accomplish these reforms, we can break up all these corporations, bring back regulations, tax these billionaires and break their control over our government & people. I earnestly believe a New Deal is possible again.

This alone will be a monumental effort covering court reform, rebuilding US institutions, passing stronger laws against abuse of power, and prosecuting all of Trump's lackeys systematically. This will take years and a tremendous amount of political capital. ... We're in for a rough decade.

Third, fixing US institutions. Democratic norms only exist because people fear consequences if they break them. Trump has broken every single one. Everyone who enabled him or followed an illegal order needs to be brought to justice. If not the next Trump, who will be smarter, will be worse.

This coupled with global instability and the death of US credit markets after the AI bubble finally pops...we're looking at a huge global credit crunch not seen since 2008 or 1929. We're looking at a long recession or perhaps even a depression. We would have to rebuild from the ground up here.

Second, the economy. Due to Trump's stupidity in alienating our allies and being insanely unstable, people are fleeing US bonds. This is causing interest rates to sky rocket. This makes US debt unmanageable especially with these tax cuts. We will have to raise taxes and/or cut expenses.

War tends to beget war. It's human nature. There's a reason why we have period of chaos and things tend to unravel quickly in these periods. It's why the US spent so much time and effort trying to create some sort of global stability. Peace is an insanely fragile thing and is easily lost.

First let's talk about war. It seems almost inevitable to any observer in foreign affairs that a world war is likely happening prior to 2028. Russia will continue to escalate with NATO and China will go after Taiwan. Trump will not help our allies, they'll have to fight alone. It'll be hell.

I do think it's likely that Trump will do everything in his power to bankrupt the nation and leave us in a horrible situation after he leaves office. Classic narcissistic collapse. If he can't have it, no one can. The next decade is going to be very hard for the US. Economic collapse, war, etc

I rather break up companies than nationalize them. Only things that ought to be nationalized are natural monopolies like transit and utilities. Case can be made for telecommunications as well.
