A human hand holding a glass of wine before a large fireplace. The claw of a bird man picks it up

A man carrying a woman through many doors of a brightly lit mansion, with many fancy adornments on the walls matching large lampposts

This is a great example of how fundamentally flawed market related research is. How much of a trend is novelty? Are you conflating multiple variables with an identical outcome (comfort vs infotainment, etc.). Or was choice collectively murdered across the industry?

Touchscreens were supposed to be the great simplifier, the wave of the driving future.

One smooth pane of glass to rule climate, audio, navigation, seat settings, drive modes and even the glove compartment. (2025 Cadillac Escalade electric.)

So buttons were banished and knobs were exiled. A Tesla was like a tablet with wheels. Even something as basic as turning on heated seats in some cases involve menus, submenus, and tiny icons. It’s not just annoying. It’s distracting in a way physical controls rarely are.

But automakers are beginning to acknowledge what drivers already know, and the pendulum is swinging back.

I don’t understand people’s weird historical illiteracy wrt brazil’s elections. The current wave of conservative elites want to return to a monarchism which lost to democratic revolutions. So they have been undermining democratic procedures and confidence to help manufacture consent for its return

Additionally, calls to delegitimize a victim by using heuristics or removal of context are cognitive and rhetorical methods for people to distance themselves from uncomfortable topics. The consequence is that it trusts the existing hierarchy and functions the same as calls to be apolitical

SPUR’s new report details how catastrophic it will be for Bay Area transit riders if the public transit funding Measure RTM fails. But drivers will feel it too, w an estimated doubling of Bay Bridge crossing times and more than 3X longer through the Caldecott Tunnel. www.spur.org/sites/defaul...

“The Bay Area's Top Three Highway Bottlenecks After Potential Transit Cuts
The Bay Bridge, Caldecott Tunnel, and I-680 in Walnut Creek/Concord would experience some of the most significant travel delays in both directions if looming cuts to transit service are not prevented.

Over a decade after the 08 crisis my research projects still found a large amount of distrust with banks due to its involvement with the crisis. Given the disastrous and cruel past couple of years the median voter's opinions are likely to become even Stranger

Surveys shouldn’t be taken at face value ever. For this topic survivorship bias is an important concept since the higher up a hierarchy someone goes there is more internal justification on how it was deserved. Which can result in downplaying complaints or adapting the same behaviors
