the jesse/james/meowth team rocket trio feels like a classic cartoon archetype to me but i also can’t think of another cartoon that really maps onto the dynamic. probably because the pokemon anime has been doing it more or less consistently for like 30 years at this point

the shimmering darkness becomes water, and a carp swims through it, before being speared by a prehistoric fisherwoman. another woman looks at her enviously as she prepares the fish and picks up a large rock. looking up from her catch, she sees her, silhouetted and holding the rock over her head. ants are then seen swarming towards the decomposing fish.

the swarming ants become a platoon of lance wielding soldiers marching towards the boy's house. they wear heavy armour that shows nothing but a single, desperate eye. they smash through his door, the house cracking and crumbling apart by their very presence. as the boy trembles in terror, a soldier spots him, and he is skewered by lances in silhouette

03 Decided to go for a simpler concept after needing to think about flying robots yesterday, so today we've got the Mummy! It has a khopesh arm which is nasty for sure, but it's also got the ability to hack your systems and make you less effective in combat! #doodles #enemies
