Just so predictable. Labour got themselves into this because those who aren't True Believers thought they could appease those who are then the issue would go away. Not so. It's seems to me that the guidance is just a mechanism to create lots of legal cases so they can litigate for what they actually want. They are well funded. This is like their bridgehead to move closer to their goal.

If there are three things that trans people need to remember if they’re using toilets in pubs, restaurants etc., it is these:

Asking about sex
13.161 Personal data includes information about a person's sex which may also be protected under Article 8 of the European Convention on Human Rights
(ECHR). In particular, it is important to be aware that some people, including some trans or gender non-conforming people, may wish to keep such information private as far as possible and may find it distressing to be asked about their sex.

To comply with Article 8 of the ECHR, a service provider must be able to objectively justify asking an individual about their sex. A request for information about sex should only be made where it is a proportionate means of achieving a legitimate aim. Furthermore, a request for information about sex which is not a proportionate means of achieving a legitimate aim could also amount to unlawful indirect gender reassignment discrimination.

I think if you can leave, leave. I can't leave because of my situation. But I would urge anyone who has the means and is in a situation where they can to flee. History shows there's a point where you won't be able to leave freely anymore. Especially if it means coming into contact with the state.
