Gray @mindpoison.org · 16hWe have a ton of redwings that live near us. Anytime I think "hey, that's a bird call I've not heard", Merlin tells me nope, another call from a RWBB. 010
Gray @mindpoison.org · 04/10/2026I would suggest buying a mask, knowing it fits well, and bringing it. Rent the fins. Well fitting masks and rentals have not been a good pair in my experience. 010
Gray @mindpoison.org · 02/10/2026Had to take a pic of those when I saw them in the store. Sound horrible. Some of their weird ones are good. Like the Churro Oreos. Don't taste like churros, but are a very good cinnamon Oreo. Think I'm gonna use them for cheesecake crust during the holidays if I can find em again. 000
Gray @mindpoison.org · 18/09/2026Maybe this thing. It was very very tiny, and my first guess was that they were some form of low CR fae. 010
Gray @mindpoison.org · 18/09/2026They seem to maybe be a conifer specific species of Wooly Aphid. 110
Gray @mindpoison.org · 18/09/2026So. I discovered a new creature this week. They were teeny tiny, like a bit smaller than a pearl cous-cous, flying little powder blue puff balls. We saw them in the lodgepole pine forest around Toulumne Meadows campground. I hearby name them Grays Flying Micro Puffball. 111
Gray @mindpoison.org · 18/09/2026Sunset at camp. There is a fire burning in/near Yosemite, and some of the smoke is blowing thru in kinda banks. 020
Gray @mindpoison.org · 17/09/2026The wind picked up enough that we stowed the awning. So, the view from the other side! 010
Gray @mindpoison.org · 17/09/2026Today, by 9:30AM, we had woke up, drove an hour, hiked a slot canyon, learned about borax mining, and were otw back to camp for breakfast burritos. We then packed up and are now at a CG in Alabama Hills, enjoying the breeze and views. 131
Gray @mindpoison.org · 14/09/2026The best pic of a squirrel I've ever taken. And some pics from along the Mist Trail in Yosemite. Tonight and tomorrow camping in the high country @ Toulumne Meadows. 021
Gray @mindpoison.org · 12/09/2026First full day in Yosemite! Going to do a little walk near Hetch Hetchy (never seen that area), then try to catch sunset at Glacier Point. 020
Gray @mindpoison.org · 11/09/2026As a boy (who does a full bleach + cut + colo) every 6-8 weeks, my haircut cost is kinda insane. How bout we make them all $20, across the board? 101
Gray @mindpoison.org · 09/09/2026spliced together. The last syllable of each phrase was enunciated oddly, like if it ended in "ing", it was stressed, and the G was pronounced hard. "running" would sound like ruhn-in-guh. So bad. 000
Gray @mindpoison.org · 09/09/2026I was listening to an audiobook of some of Dasiell Hammet's stuff the other night. The voice actor had a weird and offputting way of reading. Like he was presented with a spreadsheet of the text broken into 3-7 word phrases, sorted alphabetically, then read in that order one at a time and then 1/2 100
Gray @mindpoison.org · 08/09/2026This time next week, I'll be looking up at the stars at Upper Pines CG in Yosemite Valley. Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! 001
Gray @mindpoison.org · 04/09/2026Midwest raised. I remember a similar phrase being used for the same thing, but Polish instead of Chinese. 000
Gray @mindpoison.org · 27/08/2026Went with Wife Unit to see Henry IV part 1 last night. Pretty cool production, and man the Elizabethan Theater here in Ashland is very, very cool. Saw a bat catching the show as it flitted about eating bugs. 010

Gray @mindpoison.org · 24/08/2026Jfc. I go into the store, we are down 5-2. Get home, down 16-2. These guys suck. 100
Gray @mindpoison.org · 23/08/2026(1) The first form of Strahd, with the PC minis spread out, after most of them ate a lightning bolt after unwisely clustering together. (2) The Final Form of Strahd in the Final Battle, just before the players defeated him, successfully ending his threat. 000
Gray @mindpoison.org · 23/08/2026Yesterday I ran the final game in our Curse of Strahd campaign. 4(?) years of games! I've been playing/DMing D&D since around 1982, and this the first time I've actually finished a campaign. Feels good, man. 100
Gray @mindpoison.org · 17/08/2026After a terrible trip a couple weeks ago, I went back and fished the Rogue River again. Redeemed with this nice Chinook. Soy glazed with maple carrots for dinner. The rest is brining overnight, will become smoked salmon tomorrow. 041
Gray @mindpoison.org · 13/08/2026Your pet(s) is in a band. What genre are they? What is the pet's role in the band? Bonus: what is the band name? 000

Gray @mindpoison.org · 08/08/2026HAPPY 2nd BIRTHDAY to Col. Archibald Percival "Wigglebutt" Philpott-Hawethorne "Beef" Wellington "Tre" III Esq. DSO!!!!!!! 131
Gray @mindpoison.org · 06/08/2026I'd have to go with a proper Cubano, or a Reuben. I did have a roast pork and broccoli rabe sandwich from a food truck in Portland years ago that might beat them, but I'd need another one to be sure. And sharp provolone is a thing? I thought provolone was just a bland Italianish version of Kraft. 000
Gray @mindpoison.org · 06/08/2026Hey, @golikehellmachine.com and other Portland peoples: Family trip to Portland this weekend. Had planned on going to Pambiche for breakfast Sunday. But their site seems to indicate no longer having a breakfast menu. Any must-try spots for brekkie? 000
Gray @mindpoison.org · 03/08/2026I'd read The Glass Key several times before I watched Miller's Crossing, and was like.... this is so familiar... what's going on here? 110
Gray @mindpoison.org · 30/07/2026I am re-reading (well, listening) to this now. I absolutely love this universe and hope to see more and more of it fleshed out. 000
Gray @mindpoison.org · 30/07/2026$17,000 for the ambulance. Seventeen Thousand Dollars for a ride for a ~110 mile trip. Fuck American "health care". 2/2 110
Gray @mindpoison.org · 30/07/2026Had gallstones while camping in the Teanaway area of the Washington Cascades. Went to Ellensburg ER. They said I should have it done in Seattle, since they couldn't do lapro there, and if I drove myself, it would then be an elective in Seattle. So they sent me by ambulance so it wouldn't be. 1/2 110
Gray @mindpoison.org · 27/07/2026Many many moons ago, before I moved there their for my brief stint, circa 1994, I did The Great Gumbothon. Three days, 13 bowls of gumbo, 11 restaurants. Couldn't get in to Emeril's, but they had a gumbo-only walk up, and the gumbo I got there (twice!) was life changing. 110
Gray @mindpoison.org · 27/07/2026Mother's for a po boy/gumbo. Court of the Two Sisters for a nicer sit-down. 000

Gray @mindpoison.org · 26/07/2026Just finished running the Curse of Strahd penultimate session for our table. Next month is the grand finale, complete with a special guest who will be running Strahd himself, with instructions of "fuck em up, no mercy". This will be the first campaign that I've run to completion in 30 years. 021
Gray @mindpoison.org · 25/07/2026Check out League of Pigs on YouTube. Small cute pigs, representing several countries (USA pig: Piggy Smalls), running races on an ever changing track. With Wide World of Sports graphics and announcing. It is truly wonderful. 021
