Today, by 9:30AM, we had woke up, drove an hour, hiked a slot canyon, learned about borax mining, and were otw back to camp for breakfast burritos. We then packed up and are now at a CG in Alabama Hills, enjoying the breeze and views.

After a terrible trip a couple weeks ago, I went back and fished the Rogue River again. Redeemed with this nice Chinook. Soy glazed with maple carrots for dinner. The rest is brining overnight, will become smoked salmon tomorrow.

We got up at 5am, drove 90 minutes to Castle Crags State Park, near Dunsmir, California. Hiked the Castle Dome trail, thru some of the Crags. Hardest hike S and I have made together. 6 miles round trip, 2080 feet of elevation gain. Confident in tackling the Mist Trail when in Yosemite in September.

Meet "????" the wood elf Divination wizard. Running with a joke I saw, when I picked Fey Touched as a Feat, I decided when I visited the Feywild, a satyr with a clipboard asked "Can I have your name?"... and after he wrote it down, I now have absolutely no idea what my name is.

We are spending a week in Yosemite and Death Valley in September. Want to hike the Mist Trail/JMT loop while there. This the 4th Monday evening hike in a row, working on getting in shape for it. 600' gain in .8 mile. We keep this up, and we'll be able to hack it.

I'm camping at Sunset Bay State Park. I hiked a couple miles along the shore, went to a beach, looked in tide pools, walked thru a botanical garden. Had a crab sammich from a place in Bandon that I went to 10+ years ago. Have to get a "Captain's Platter" whenever at the coast.

The famous crab sammich, clam chowder, and a root beer.

Final step. Smoking homemade Andouille sausage. 1.5 lbs of unsmoked bulk in the freezer, along with 7lbs each of sweet Italian and hot Italian. I love having a freezer drawer full of homemade sausage. I need to find a good recipe for bratwurst.
