The participation trophies and over programming ( loss of free range childhood) starting in the 80s is worse than any lead in gasoline.

I hate ageism but in this case I will allow it. Move over older boomers! The job market sucks right now including for professors.

To properly interpret Doug Ford's statements about Trump, you need to think of him as an unrequited lover, not as somebody who has finally seen the light.

I hated those ‘baby on board’ signs. To me they were put there by yuppie parents who were used to speeding in their BMWs but now that THEY had kids, all of a sudden driving carefully was important to them. But only around their car. In other words, their car should be treated well and was special.

I agree with this. So many people go on and on that pot is better ( less harmful to individual and society) than alcohol but booze doesn’t pollute and spread. Whatever happened to second hand smoke concerns? Pot doesn’t agree with me and I don’t want it.

Same here. The backyard gets more mosquitos and there is more going on from my front porch. Others on the street use theirs as well.

1/ Expect more cynical reinventions like this - Dr. Merrilee Fullerton, the former Ontario Minister of Long-Term Care who notoriously mismanaged #COVID in long-term care in that province, has apparently reinvented herself as an advocate for #LongCOVID, in addition to - bsky.app/profile/docm...

I had a bad experience with some shell shapes. They auctioned on to the back of my tongue and were difficult to remove!!

I live in an inner city suburb and the people here tend to push to not allow the small post war bungalows to be replaced with bigger houses. They themselves want the right to a bigger house but they are constantly trying to keep the houses small.

They may think their tasks are done quicker but are they being done correctly? Is this the case of coders who create crap code with AI that then makes the software test team’s workload skyrocket?

A long time “have not” province becomes a “have” province and suddenly the program is unfair?

In Covid with working from home, there were a LOT of people on Social Media insisting that it showed that middle mgmt wasn’t needed. As a previous mgr myself, I just thought ‘seriously? Have you met your coworkers?’ But the need to manage up and run interference is also a great counter example.

The fact that Canadians can’t find a primary care practitioner whether md or nurse practitioner is the biggest failure of our current healthcare. But that has to do with throttling the supply and various parties are the cause.

Sounds more like there were known issues on opening and they were forced to open because of the negative public opinion about delays. Maybe only got safety sign off if agreed to do fixes in 3 months.

Maybe but there were a few experts that just read the CDC website that hanta wasn’t person to person and did NO additional work eg the known fact that one strain, the Andes, is. It gave me shades of the incredibly misleading VITT/VIPIT messaging about the AV vax and blood clots. “You fly don’t you?”

The fact that it was airborne was known or should have been known since the choir practice in USA. That was before the “lockdowns” in March.

No the model is the training. If you model from scratch you won’t have enough data to create a very good model.
021
Milley @milley.bsky.social · 11/05/2026
I have used an AI image model ( before chatgpt etc). I retrained some of the layers of the model with my data (AI image model as starting point then it should have created a more finely tuned model on my data.) But my data was tiny next to the model’s data. So no change from the original model.

It is sensational. I feel much safer than when I moved here in the 80s. Actually I take that back. I feel much less safe as a pedestrian. Drivers are out of control.

No. Normally I would favour supporting Pride. But this is a mature movement and can pressure the companies that crumpled under the anticipated DEI backlash ( I assume to match Trumps) to resume support. We have very bad economics right now and need other priorities.
