What I find interesting about the US Department of War recognized religions is this: It categorizes Christianity into many faiths, even on the new shortened list. But it has never categorized Buddhism into Theravada, Mahayana & Vajrayana; and it has never categorized Islam into Sunni, Shia, etc..

Why is 'the left' not talking about Iran? It is not just because of Israel's vocal support of the protests. Just as importantly, the main Iranian opposition (in the diaspora at least) are pro-Pahlavi Dynasty (itself having committed atrocities) which is anathema to the republicanism of 'the left'.

The point is that, while criminal proceedings are on foot, a royal commission can't look at anything to do with the Bondi shootings or the shooters, including why and how they did it, that is it can't touch on the subject that is its sole reason for being established. It will achieve nothing.
