It used to be that if you asked Google Assistant to set two timers in one request (e.g. ”set a timer for 10 minutes and a timer for 15 minutes”), depending on your wording you would either get: * A timer for 15 minutes (no 10 minute timer) * A timer for 10 minutes and 15 seconds Or, my […]

A short haired gray/tortoiseshell cat is curled up on a small chair in the sunshine. She has her front legs stretched out, with one paw delicately crossed over her other leg. Her eyes are squinting shut in pleasure.

Last week I released my first paid app (matchymaps.com) on the App Store and Google Play. Today it is the UK's number one paid app in the Maps & Navigation category (and 38th in all categories) I think that might speak more to how few people pay for apps, but still, a win is a win :)

@Edent The model doesn't natively support that, but if you install sox, the little shim the Pied installs will use that to adjust rate and pitch for you. (Another big thing on my roadmap is to replace that shim with a little daemon that handles these sorts of things more elegantly)

@christianp I suspect transaction fees are the root issue. All the companies I've seen trying to solve it do it by saying 'give us £x/month' and we'll distribute it amongst the people you flattr/coil/whatever, otherwise you'd be losing money on transaction fees. But that then requires everyone […]

@Edent Best I've managed so far is simply: ffmpeg -i wrap.webp -vf v360=dfisheye:equirect -frames:v 1 unwrap.jpg Was trying to see if there's a way to compensate for the duplication at the edges of the images, but haven't figured anything out yet

Mike Sheldon @mike.hendike.co.uk.ap.brid.gy · 13/01/2026
@Edent I'm guessing an input of dfisheye and output of equirect, might need some fiddling with the fov parameters too though

Mike Sheldon @mike.hendike.co.uk.ap.brid.gy · 13/01/2026
@Edent Speculation: Might take some experimentation to get the right parameters, but ffmpeg's v360 filter will probably do what you want: ayosec.github.io/ffmpeg-filters-doc…
