Kids need/deserve traumatic films. Films that show death or lasting consequences that aren't resolved almost instantly. Fear, anger, grief and frustration should be part of kids movies. Kids arent stupid, they feel big emotions just like adults, they deserve to see those experiences reflected back.

Kuvakaappaus. Reetta Rannan julkinen päivitys facebookissa. Kuvassa kaksi postimerkkiä. Toisessa postimerkissä on veden äärellä siipiään levittävä joutsen. Toisessa postimerkissä on veden äärellä seisova kurki. Molemmat kuvat on tehty tekoälyllä.

A new Crystalline Conflict map is set to hit the stage: Archeia Harmonias! 📚💎

A slide from the Final Fantasy 14 Letter from the Producer Live Part 91. Text reads New Crystalline Conflict Area, Archeia Harmonias. Screenshot shows a wide corridor lined with bookshelves leads up to the crystal in the distance. In the foreground on the floor is a glowing circular pattern. Development screenshots are subject to change.

Found this on TikTok and it made me emotional ❤️ Artists create universes from nothing. Being an animator is an intimate understanding of life, environments, physics, what it MEANS to be alive, and the ability to convey the beauty within our world in seconds.

Guillermo del Toro on wealth: "a wealthy man is a man who has enough, not a man that needs more. If you have enough to invite someone for a beer? You're rich. If you have a yacht, planes, islands, and you still need more? You're not rich."

Guillermo del Toro quote "...think about wealth for me for example. A wealthy man that has enough..."

"not a man that needs more. If you have enough to invite somebody to beer..."

"...you're rich. If you have, whatever-"

"- yachts and planes and islands and you STILL need more? You're not rich."

Playing Frontlines in FFXIV has been so much more fun now that the wins do not matter, can just watch and laugh when you encounter stupidity :D and try different jobs! 15 kills with dnc was nice 🤩 Gif below is so accurate especially for the games I’ve had this week 😂 mood

Fuck me this is bleak. But please, do continue to use GenAI slop thumbnails for your YouTube videos, or your album art, or your book covers or whatever else. I'll continue to refuse to watch/listen/read any of them, knowing already they're not worth the time & that you're a disappointing lazy hack.

‘Children's book illustrator isn't a job anymore.’
I've been out of work for a while now. I made children's book illustrations, stock art, and took various art commissions.

Now I have several maxed out credit cards and use a donation bin for food. I haven't had a steady contract in over a year. two weeks ago, when a client who has switched to AI found out about this he gave me $50 out of "a sense of guilt." Basically pity for the fact that Illustrator, as a job, does not exist anymore.

It was my birthday recently and I sincerely considered not living anymore.
The worst part of all is that the parents who once supported me fully in being an artist sent me an AI generated picture of a caricature of themselves holding a birthday cake with my name spelled incorrectly.

Every artist I’ve ever known has this itch to create that won’t go away until they create. They have to do it. It’s why I know the “finally, someone like me can make art” AI users are full of shit. What they really mean is “finally, a way to get social media likes without hard work”.

One of my favourite quotes is "never date someone you have to hide your stuffed animals from." Never let a partner make you feel bad for your interests and hobbies. If they make fun of you for liking something, get bent out of shape over a hobby, they aren't worth your time.

a picture of my sona holding my old pc with the captions:

"so, hi! my trusty pc will be hitting 10 years in 2026. that's a lot! It's served me well, but the age is starting to show and i don't have the funds to drop on a replacement. so we're hopefully changing that!"
