I get it, localisation is hard, and a lot of work for the original writer also. But to insist that a work can't be translated into a language that you don't understand yourself, through fear that it'll lose artistic integrity, is quite frankly insulting to translators!

preservation of the author’s intent is the job of a translator. toby’s fixation on permitting only “perfect” translations is ridiculous considering he knows firsthand (after seeing responses to some of the decisions made in the japanese localization) that there’s no such thing as perfect.
