Not to sound fearmonger-y but. If you have a Stripe account, and you've received an email about "Stripe Radar" and its pricing... pls read their email. Instructions below + plus comment from reddit (not an endorsement, but just as something to watch out for)

It's not enough to be against AI, you need to be pro art. You need to be a champion of the art you love, you need to share that passion and joy, and do what you can to support the artists who make it, because it's not enough to hate AI, to hate what it's doing to art and media; you gotta love.

The best advice I ever got when I started freelancing was, if you have to turn down work, always suggest someone else who could do it. I have been so lucky to benefit from that over the years.

My partner lost their job. So on top of already being behind on bills and being on an ice soup diet, we won’t be able to pay our rent. Please please share this and help me get some eyes in my work, I VERY urgently need help at this time.

real-time settings update without refresh is still my favorite feature of slime2 widgets you could even do this real-time on stream if you wanted, since the desktop app is separate from the overlay display

The difference between closed captions and open captions: Closed captions are on a separate track that can be turned on or off. Open captions are captions that are burned into the video, so that they are always showing. The viewer cannot turn them off. www.w3.org/WAI/media/av...

We are the LARGEST union in trade publishing history, and we want better for our workers in order to make a sea change for creatives everywhere. Let's take a stand together against the existential threats to the arts, whether stagnating wages, the AI slop machine, and destructive layoffs.

Screen cap of Publishers Lunch article stating "Hachette Boom Group Employees Unionize" by Erin Somers. Start of article: "Employees of Hachette Book Group announced they have unionized with Washington-Baltimore News-Guild Local 32035 of the AFL-CIO. They have signed up a supermajority of 600 workers, making it the largest union in trade publishing history. The union says it is seeking better benefits, protections, and rights for workers, as well as increased equity, transparency, and agency in the workplace."

The thing that has been weighing on me so much with the violence in MN is how many times I've heard "if they minded their own business they'd be alive", which is such a weird isolationist mindset that I've seen grow over the last few years and now blossom in front of us

"Draw every day" is straight up bad advice Draw regularly, yes, but the hand is a muscle and like with any skill, rest days are critical. You need to rest and recharge, read/watch/play etc in order to keep those creative juices going If you try to force it then it's just gonna lead to burnout
