i have the maidenly heart of a shoujo manga heroine. i'm in the springtime of life, still. i like to think i've matured where it counts in the past 15-20 years but i feel terribly girlish about that sort of thing

YEAH DDLC ULTIMATELY GETS A PASS IMO even though it was one that annoyed me for this attitude surrounding it for awhile because i realized "oh there is genre familiarity here AND theyre doing some very interesting to me meta stuff with monika..."

the end of jadeite ep of sailor moon really is one of the most bafflingly written and boarded but i LOVE laughing at it. it's such a weird note to end a character on and every other shitennou mini boss is handled way better

i sound just like sailor moon but specifically when she is whining

anyway the irony is that i'm only thinking about this because i'm replaying a visual novel made by someone who fucking loves visual novels (ladykiller in a bind)

this is kind of a feeling that transcends, if people are telling a story i want them passionate about the construction and execution of a narrative and the medium that they've chosen to deliver it in. if it feels like the medium was a concession and sacrifice from the start it's a pain to experience

miel @ catgirl city (7.4) @miel.honeyviolets.gay · 17h

THAT'S ONE OF THE THINGS THAT GETS ME SO BAD, EXACTLY,

010 1

miel @ catgirl city (7.4) @miel.honeyviolets.gay · 17h

there are some OELVNs out there where you can tell the writer really really wanted to be telling this story in literally any other format than a visual novel and every time i think about it i get bummed out

"this dating sim visual novel was made by people who HATE dating sims and visual novels!" oh... sorry... i typically only like dating sim visual novels made by people who are excited to be making one, i think

also i still really like the way i chose to depict the concept of her 'in the palm of hydaelyn's hand' in that drawing ... very literally but the blue spectral glow of the lines feels ethereal. i like my art !

that witch's bakery game looks very cute and popped up on the hella yuri curator page so there's seemingly no reason for me to not get it Eventually but i am afraid it would make me start crying because i can't easily bake bread in my current living situation
