i don't think journalism as an industry will ever fully die because there are people who want to pay directly for it, and pre-internet, people were actually used to paying for newspapers (even during the great depression). that cultural norm changed; it can change back again. or so i have to believe

and that's not even getting into the extreme whiteness and straightness of the space. even finding other blogs with people who were outside of that was kind of difficult back then, and the few that existed had to face serious trolling as a norm. it sucked and it feels like we're going back to that.

yeah, i get that. i think we have about a decade age difference? (maybe more?) when i was in college reading IGN, they were still doing "babe of the week" which was, to be clear, not about fictional women but actual real women who worked in the industry in some form. just, as one example
