I do like the ability to see the names on the screen now as the person goes across. But I miss being the exuberant person being able to read the names. I really do. Although who are we kidding? I would have sobbed through every single name. 😭😁

Fact: Right before COVID, the department chairs got to read the names of every student in their department at graduation. It was literally the only reason I wanted to be chair at all: to read the names. It stopped right before my one year as Interim Chair.

I have a 2.5 hour block myself, so I can get away with more than you. That said, this past semester for editing assignments, we watched IN THE MOOD FOR LOVE and Pawlowski's COLD WAR, and both are way under 2 hours. (Though I think THE LIMEY, mentioned above, is an inspired choice.)
