An important thing to think about for remote vo talent. When you go into a session remotely you don't just represent yourself. You represent all remote talent. A producer/engineer will sometimes base their opinion on one bad session or poor sounding space for all remote talent.

I think the ultimate fulfillment from being an actor isn't fame or recognition but the understanding that you are a part of something that gives people the opportunity to feel something. Whether that be joy, sadness, anger or anything. To be a part of a story that makes you feel.

My alma mater was quite emphatic on the subject that acting is NOT therapy. Acting can be cathartic, sure. Accessing certain emotions, especially if you’ve been blocking them in your real life. But the idea that “acting is therapy” misunderstands both acting and therapy’s purposes, for the worse.
