This weekend's gaming was New Amsterdam which has been on the pile of shame for a long time. Warning that this does heavy colonial themes. A really interesting set of mechanics with bidding for actions instead of worker placement. A decent medium heavy game, but beware the theme.

As I sit on another delayed trip home I am thinking about writing a book about a train that gets stuck for so long it spawns an entirely new civilisation. I think a war might start between carriages 2 and 5 and the couple across the way seem to be trying to conceive the first child of this trip.
