I am new to beIN Sports Connect. Is this audio-video-commentary out of stnc situation normal? You hear the goal before you see it and the commentary is 3 seconds late. #WAFCON

AI has no place in club-supporters relations. Someone at the Thorns FO clearly does not know what they’re doing.

It is peak #FIFA to reference Vea Lumumba during the halftime show in New Jersey, when he was refused a visa to support his team just a few weeks ago.

I would have liked to see more goals from the Roses, but I'm happy they did not concede and stayed in the game until the end. Well done overall, and another clean sheet for Karpenko.

Whitaker and Cappadona may have scored the goals, but the best defender today was Seto. A few crucial interceptions and great passes to speed up the attack.

Bennett is too slow off the field and the Roses are down to 10 for a minute, and almost get scored on.

I can't wait to see Mimi Alidou in that midfield.

Roses should have scored another one in the first 15 minutes of the second half. Just hope it doesn't come back to bite us like it has before against Calgary.

Seeing Cappadona score was surprising enough. But to see Whitaker head the ball into the goal was totally unexpected. But I'll take it any day! Montreal Roses defenders on fire tonight. #NSL

Some exciting signings announced today by @rosesmtl.ca. Mimi Alidou and Ève Périsset are both experienced international players who will surely make their mark on an already very competitive team.

No one is pretending that FIFA was ever a bastion of justice and fairness. But the egregious maltreatment of some teams juxtaposed with clear preference of others, makes it too blatant to accept.

Morocco captain Achraf Hakimi would not have been able to play in Canada as he is charged with rape in France. A court confirmed there is sufficient evidence to proceed with the trial and the case is currently ongoing. #fifa #worldcup #Canada #Morocco

We’re living in an upside down world. While many European countries boycotted Eurovision because it allowed a genociding state to participate, Canada decides to join. While a heat wave rolls over the country and Europe is burning up, Canada scraps its emission reduction targets as unsustainable.

Long before Messi or Ronaldo reached six World Cup appearances, Formiga and Homare Sawa did it in 2015, then Marta and Christine Sinclair did it in 2023. Formiga is the only player (male or female) to have played in seven World Cup tournaments.

A reminder that Infantino said in 2017 that all qualified teams, their fans and officials, need to have access to a host country, otherwise it can't host. There are already numerous (predictable) US visa issues with the World Cup about to kick off and likely more to come.

Infantino was asked about the issue at the time and responded clearly, saying that if teams and supporters couldn’t access a country, there would be no World Cup there.

“We are now in the process of defining the bid requirements,” Infantino said in 2017. “In the world, there are many countries that have bans, travel bans, visa requirements and so on and so forth.

“It’s obvious when it comes to Fifa competitions, that any team — including the supporters and officials of that team — who qualify for a World Cup, need to have access to the country, otherwise there is no World Cup.

“The requirements will be clear. And then each country can make up their decision, whether they want to bid or not, based on the requirements.”
