And even if they did, however despicable they are, the war is won quicker and easier if you give the civilian population a way out of the war by getting rid of the people in power. Like the same reason you want to handle surrendering soldiers well too.

We should buy European made material, I completely agree with the principle. However there already are F35s that were bought. Should Belgium buy two different platforms? More training, parts, etc more costs. Not to mention that the European equivalent is just now being developed...
