I contracted measles at 3 months old. I spent 3 months in the hospital. It ravished my lungs and immune system. I have Lupus & all the challenges that comes with. Measles is serious and that in 2026 that shouldn’t have to be said. But here we are.

I read a part of the young victim's story and I cannot read anymore. It is beyond triggering. Something else that is triggering is how victims are so often BLAMED while perpetrators are often believed or excused and seeing that again and again is also triggering. I find her take interesting.

I have been thinking a lot about what it means to be the mother of adult children. How for me that was my whole life. I used to say that my children were the reason that I breathed.
