A federal watchdog has delayed the release of a report on the RCMP’s specialized protest response unit in British Columbia until after the B.C. election. The report looked into the unit's conduct at three protests between 2017 and 2021.

BC is an outlier as the only Canadian jurisdiction where the Mental Health Act bulldozed involuntary patient's rights so thoroughly. I'll be keeping an eye on this for @thetyee.ca while the gov reworks the laws to better respect patient's rights. Stay tuned.

My last article as the labour reporter at @pressprogress.ca is about.... media layoffs! Earlier this month, Rogers closed six stations and laid off 230 radio workers across the country. In Vancouver, the layoffs hit a newsroom that had struggled for years to unionize.

FYI if you use the WeatherCan app made by Environment and Climate Change Canada you can set notifications for air quality. When it reaches the level you set, you will get a notification. Overall it’s a great app, highly recommend
