Well said by Roy Moore - clear, fair and reasonable opposition to Pozzo's ownership of #watfordfc. Every past promise for change by Pozzo and Duxbury has been broken. Will they even bother this time? Or just carry on, again reminding fans we don't matter? Pozzo out.

Broken foot means not been at #watfordfc since opening day. Maybe for the best. Chickens have come home to roost for Pozzo's ownership. The club is lost - no strategy, no leadership, no culture, no clue on pitch. The king takes no responsibility, but fans know who is responsible for this mess.

Hard to discern the severity - if the "after international break" comments reflect the actual damage or just a guess. Sad news for a young man who has endured so much. And scary news for a midfield that is so weak. How much longer can we sign free agents? #watfordfc

God that's grim. True failure by Pozzo, Duxbury, Nani and Andrea Papadia, the anonymous Head of Recruitment, to prepare for this season. Two days left and these are our options. #watfordfc #watfordfc

Question is whether they invest at all - let alone whether they prioritise striker, CB or ball-playing midfielder. Saturday showed our potential if we add properly, but fail to do so and it feels unsustainable for long. #watfordfc

Maamma and Bravo will carry us this year. Really like Bove + Kyprianou, but miss real ball-playing MF. Kyprianou liability for card, but enjoy the hard-man style. Pollock brilliant work to clean up, but defence needs bolstering, won't do that every week. Hope Gino invests a bit more! #watfordfc

Another year of Pozzo delusion even with obvious warning lights flashing. Happy with our strikers, who have shown no ability to score goals consistently. Prioritising experienced, Championship players, then bringing none in. Struggling to compete financially. Not good news. #watfordfc

Bayo returning would genuinely cause me to revolt. Wouldn't put it past Pozzo. Frustrating thing is we clearly have ability to build up play in attack - just no end product at all. Bring in real goal-scorer and we could be good. But otherwise, we'll just be wasteful and frustrating. #watfordfc

Surely Pozzo, Duxbury and Dowling will recognise the significant gaps in #watfordfc squad...right? Dionisi already talking in media about CB hunt, not sure one will arrive this week. Feels like the same old merry-go-round by Pozzo, leaving manager exposed with squad not good enough.

When a win is not a win, #watfordfc style. Lots of possession, lots of shots, but last-gasp 1-0 win vs Crawley raised many concerns. Strong midfield, but CB quality is worrying and striker position is serious problem. Can see us controlling play but giving up too many goals, scoring too few.

Given the services cutbacks, surprised you've even managed to see a Thameslink train. Rare to spot them in the wild now!

I think it would be useful if journalists stopped adding the word 'radical' to descriptions of energy secretaries for the apparent reason that they understand the urgency of the climate crisis. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

In her first 48 hours as energy secretary, Miatta Fahnbulleh was left in no doubt about the thorny policy decision at the top of her in-tray. Protesters from Fossil Free London met her outside her new offices dressed as firefighters holding placards reading: “We’re already putting out fires, don’t start new ones.”

The MP for Peckham – a radical economist who is outspoken about the climate crisis – is a surprising choice as secretary of state for energy and net zero for those who believe the speculation in Westminster that Andy Burnham wants to approve new oil and gas drilling in the North Sea.

An opportunity for genuine change in Britain. Great perspective from @iandunt.bsky.social on why the progressive left needs to embrace it, not continue to be caught in the cycle of misery that plays into the far right's hands.

Brilliant Spain the deserving winner over nasty Argentina. Even as an Italy fan, so much to appreciate with this Spain team - developing young talent, multi-faceted play, controlling and relentless under pressure. Well done, La Roja.

Said this 18 months ago when Trump Admin gutted CDC, slashed science and medical research funding. Other countries launched research incubators, grant programmes for world-class science experts, etc. UK did so little, even w huge advantage of renowned univs, English language, cultural affinity.

Invited the pressure, unable to cope with it, sadly predictable outcome for England. Hard to believe Tuchel thought it would work against Argentina, letting them play football. The better team won with a better performance.

Hard to envision a big deal for Giorgi. A lovely player and clearly been hampered by his injuries, but quite one-dimensional, some questions on decisions, lacking the final ball or final shot, etc. His quality has never led to the results that would feel big deal worthy, has it? #watfordfc

Typical Gen X erasure. 😆 There are lots of Dem options, depending upon how you stretch "plausible". Beshear, Newsom, Shapiro, Whitmer, Pritzker all in the age bracket.

Mediocre season for #watfordfc summed up with five straight losses and a final day embarrassment. Duxbury fronting our owner's failings and blaming it on recruitment says so much about how broken the club is and how bad Pozzo's rule has become. There's no future until Pozzo is gone.

Absolutely an avoidable failure. And yet all signs pointed to it, because of such poor leadership and decision-making. Italy player selection and use is particularly galling, I agree. What's your solution? How do you fix it? Where to start?

Past the point of soul-searching, time for burn-it-down response for Italy. FIGC leadership must go, starting with Gravina, who has overseen two failed World Cup qualifications. Gattuso obviously will go, need a new approach to coaching. Talent development must be completely transformed. #azzurri

Devastating but deserved for Italy. Poor management, poor play, and a federation incapable of the transformation and reform needed to make Italy globally competitive again. It's a long journey ahead, because FIGC needs to burn it all down and start fresh. But are they able and willing?

Dreadful coaching, dreadful decision-making, dreadful performance on the pitch. Italy did not deserve to win. Time for full-scale change at the FIGC. Gravina out, Gattuso out, and that's just a start. There are no excuses. #azzurri

Devastated. Arrivederci, #Azzurri. A dreadful match from Italy, from bad coaching to poor performances to an obvious red card. The soul-searching must lead to wholesale change in Italian football. Unacceptable.

Great trip. Calcio, Maserati and Ferrari visits, food and wine, requisite centro storico time. Have a soft-spot for SPAL / Ars et Labor Ferrara. Glad to hear you enjoyed match, sad when owners drive fans to boycott (hi Gino...). Many easy trips from Florence for you. Saw Pistoiese a few years ago.

Meanwhile, am on Italian holiday and had pleasure of #BolognaFC v Roma on Thurs in Europa League and then Ars et Labor Ferrara (formerly #SPAL) today. Must've been 7,500 for a fifth tier match, Ferraresi tifosi in great voice. After Tacopina ruined their club, hope for quick climb up leagues.

Good read about under-appreciated league, love Serie B. Would like some new clubs to come up, bit tired of #SerieA / #SerieB recent usual suspects like Cremonese, Venezia, Frosinone. Hope for Catanzaro, Palermo, Modena for the playoffs at least!

No, they just didn't start showing it on any channel until around 7 minutes into the game. No clue why, especially because half of it was random studio chatter so not like it was watching another competition. Really poor.

So much curling. Always the curling. Literally said "heading to the USA-Slovakia hockey next", then took at least 15 minutes, missed seven minutes and a goal. Doing my head in!

Olympics TV broadcasting in the UK is truly diabolical. Programme listings bear no resemblance to events being shown. Inane chatter and interviews rather than live events. "Coming up next" and then an entirely different sport. How have BBC and TNT Sports both done this so badly?

Another Thameslink shambles this morning. 7:17am Greenwich to London Bridge departed a few minutes late and spend 35+ minutes at a standstill outside LBG because of problems up the line. Several later Southeastern trains from Greenwich passed it. When Thameslink goes wrong, it goes really wrong.

Agreed. Did we address some needs? Sort-of, maybe. Did we lose a manager, bring in players who may not fit whatever style a future one will play, make our big move a player who has been out for 14 months, and reinforce that Pozzo runs a dysfunctional and delusional operation? Oh yes. #watfordfc

Speaking the truth. Players were poor yet again. Manager has been out managed yet again. But the fish rots from the head. Pozzo presides over a dysfunctional organisation and a failing football model. It hasn't worked for half a decade. #watfordfc
