Absolute scenes at a "My name is Henry" convention in Sydney
In Sydney, 120 men named Henry attacked each other during a "My Name is Henry" convention. Henry Pantie of Canberra accused Henry Pap of Sydney of not being a Henry at all, but in fact an Angus. "It was a lie", explained Mr Pap, "I'm a Henry and always will be.", whereupon Henry Pap attacked Henry Pantie, whilst two other Henrys - Jones and Dyer - attempted to pull them apart. Several more Henrys - Smith, Calderwood and Andrews - became involved and soon the entire convention descended into a giant fist fight. The brawl was eventually broken up by riot police, led by a man named Shane."

On the face of it quite a boring report about a planning application, apart from this bit. I think more planning officers should be sarcastic
A screenshot of report about a planning application, as "sassed" by an inspector

'A Leeds City Council report sassed: “The proposal seeks to demolish the existing warehouse and replace it with a new commercial building for existing business use.

“The new building consists of a new site layout, workshop space, storage, showroom areas and ancillary facilities.

“The design reflects modern industrial requirements while also responding to the site’s context.”

Planning officers decided the development would have no impact on road safety around the site.

The council report concluded: “The development is considered to be appropriate and will not adversely impact on the appearance of the locality or the amenity of nearby occupiers.”'

It would be hilarious if Nigel Farage resigned and got re-elected, only to have to resign (or be suspended) again when they reopen the investigation. Source: publications.parliament.uk/pa/cm5803/cm...
Text from Procedural Protocol in respect of the [House of Commons] Code of Conduct

Suspension of investigations

39. The Commissioner has the discretion to suspend investigations at any time. This may, for example, happen if the Member suffers ill health or a bereavement during the investigation, or where a related police investigation is taking place.

40. If Parliament is dissolved or the Member otherwise ceases to be a Member while an investigation is in progress, the Commissioner will suspend their investigation until the Member is re-elected. If the Member is not returned to Parliament, the Commissioner will decide if it is appropriate and proportionate to resume their investigation.
