But he can install a crooked House Clerk. We need to get some early GOP resignations to let Jeffries nominate a legit House Clerk.

I would seem to be there is a way to thwart these maneuverings is for sufficient GOP members (> 6) of the house to resign prior to Jan 3rd in order to hand the majority to the democrats who can then appoint a law abiding clerk and seat house members who were duly elected.

Definitely not saying the the three model companies didn’t fail here, rather, the three model cos and the testing co all failed. And I agree that the use of unmonitored agents in reinforcement learning task (or any task) is asking for trouble.

I preprint everything and won‘t review papers that haven’t been posted as a preprint, unless there is a good reason not to. I have spent too much time reviewing MSs that the authors knew - or should have known - it is not ready for the light of day.

No one is thinking about this now but: the Fed will not raise interest rates to bring down inflation while Trump is in office. It will raise them sharply one he’s gone, trigger a recession, and sabotage the next Democratic president.

Accountability is critical, but step one to gaining power and returning the power to the people (court reform, gerrymandering reform, electoral college pact). Step 2 & 3 are investigate and prosecute.

As a scientist who attends many science talks and conferences and relatively few humanities talks, I am always surprised that talks that are read from a text land with an audience. This one landed with a thud. I much prefer talks designed with the audience in mind.
