Federica Lacarbonara presented her research on the contribution of caregivers to the self-care of patients receiving oral SACT/chemotherapy. Younger caregivers cohabiting with patients had a bigger contribution. Contribution reduces over time. @ukons.bsky.social #ESMO25 #EONS18

Me in 1995 working as a staff nurse on an oncology ward at Charing Cross Hospital UK. I had completed my specialist qualification in Oncology and knew my career would be in cancer care. I would later become a CNS in Head and Neck Cancer. #NationalCancerCNSDay

Great piece on updated illness trajectories in Oncology. Early involvement of palliative care is vital as aggressive treatment does not always benefit patients' quality of life. 'timely discussion with patients and their care givers about individual goals and preferences is therefore important'
