When's the last time you saw me take something beyond primer? (I'm asking you lot because I forgot!)

a Dapol 14T Air Ministry tanker sits in kit form after a 48 hour long bath in isopropyl alcohol. I don't know why I left it that long.

The underframe, mounted on a stand while the primer dries. Sneaking into shot is the tank which has already been sprayed red. The cheeky fucker.

Couldn't reassemble it fast enough to take a pic to prove that yes, I can actually Do Things. (not a product placement btw my sorry excuse for a desk is just littered with tools and paint right now)

Bending continuous handrails hurts my soul. Nothing's permanently fitted yet, still gotta tidy up alll the scuffs from removing the moulded bits, but she's looking slightly more like a 1400 now 😁

Mainline 2P drivers are a shade overscale for 6'6 so they're about right for the 1400's 6'8½... not sure if they'll make the loco ride too high but we'll see what happens when I tackle the Perseverance chassis 🤞

"Duke's 'Picnic' was a train for summer visitors. It was his Special Train. He took his passengers up the line and stopped anywhere they wanted, He and his driver knew all the best places for picnics" Big thank you to Aaron for doing this edit <3
