Everytime I'm on windows I install this app called Spacesniffer. There's nothing quit like it on linux (filelight is ok but just not the same). So in classic linux user fashion, I made my own!

Note to self, don't try to stream on Nixos. OBS will forget all of your screenshare windows and when you open OBS you'll be met with n windows asking you to select new windows for your sources (and none of the windows will tell you for what source.

I wanted to write some @gleam.run, manually. Not knowing what to write started going thru #aoc from 2015. Man gleam is so chill to trad-code with. 2015d3p1 involved using dicts. I remembered the basics of the strat from 2024, but had to re-figure out some stuff. But got it first try :D

Ignoring all the scuffed things you might have to do on a NixOS system, the end result is really a marvel. As an ex-Arch user, I feel like NixOS is a huge step above. I am truly in control of my system.

My main editor progression: Bloodshed IDE > VS2013 > VS2015 > VS2017 + Sublime > Atom > Vscode > cursor > Zed > and now, I might move to Helix. Had helix installed for over a year but never learned the motions beyond super super basics like opening the file picker. Excited for Steel plugins

I stopped using worktrees with agents nearly as often, instead I now tell it to commit their hunks. Not perfect of course, if changes are very complex and interwoven in the same files, it can get confused fast. But if working on separate changes, they can be in the same worktree.

It's so weird. I thought hell would freeze over before a MacBook was an affordable option. It's strongly considered the new, but I needed a little bit more power, so I went with an air. Got a 13inch m5 air midnight colored 16GB memoru 512GB storage. Really like the size.

Setup my new laptop with darwin-nix. So far, my configuration feels pretty solid. Getting setup quickly was more important than understanding everything, so I used AI to port many things over. Everything except for whatsapp is managed under Nix. github.com/metruzanca/n... #nix

I built my own openclaw in golang. I wanted to know how it worked internally and I found a great resource to walk me thru the general implementation path. Learned a lot and might keep updating it. Also Hermes was a huge inspiration, probably more than openclaw.

Been using GNU stow for a few years for my dotfiles, but I keep running into annoying errors/warnings that require special flags to get stow working as expected. --adopt --no-folding --restow And I often forget what each does. So I made github.com/metruzanca/g... to just ask the user.

Whenever I use chatgpt/perplexity/t3chat, basically any purely chat agent, I often find myself wanting to save a document or something. I'm thinking I should maybe self host opencode server somewhere and use that instead (esp on mobile). Coding agents are just so much more flexible.
