EYG is a great choice of language for agents. Types and effects give strong feedback. Here I've implemented tools that the agent can use to create HTML artifacts and lay them out using a tiling window manager.

EYG now has syntax highlight, and I think it looks kinda nice. This is a much of a surprise to me as anyone else. I've never given much though to the syntax beyond adding the minimum I need at any moment.

I've finally found the time to push a claim that I've made for a while the EYG is fun for embedding in other applications. In this case the hashi from Jak. Need a few API improvements then it will be a case of defining your effects and it just works. vimeo.com/1218503213

I've been thinking a lot about side effects. Gleam doesn't have any extensible data types so I had been working with an unsatisfactory solution. Now I've read up on continuations properly I think I have a satisfactory solution. crowdhailer.me/2026-07-15/a... Let me know how good my explanation is.

I'm seeing more presentations/blogs about adding firm boundaries for AI code development. i.e. banning `any` with linting If you're restricting your agents to a subset of typescript I think you're looking for gleam.run

I like the flag `--dangerously-skip-permissions` I think it has exactly the right amount of panic. For that reason I run all my agents on a dedicated VPS. Working with them just takes a git workflow and their own bot account. crowdhailer.me/2026-05-11/r...
