Be aware of a bug on PsyArXiv @cos.io Triple check your preprint before submition. If it fails moderation you'll have to submit again from scratch. Updating files doesn't work rn. Mine failed as I forgot my email address on the front page, not great cause I really need to keep the original link...

New paper, on a worrying trend in meta-science: the practice of anonymising datasets on, e.g., published articles. We argue that this is at odds with norms established in research synthesis, explore arguments for anonymisation, provide counterpoints, and demonstrate implications and epistemic costs.

I made an error that I found thanks to @lukaswallrich.bsky.social. The code and preprint have been corrected/updated. Effects on false positive rates are smaller and only for alternative and correlation method but I think the overall argument still works.

Yet another example of original authors being allowed to say anything they want in replies to critiques unconstrained by verifiable facts. Reply states we didn’t consider things we explicitly did, and says the original article never said things it explicitly did. Read Jamie’s thread for details:
