Just finished watching Serial Experements Lain, finally! It was good. Banger soundtrack and really fun ideas of the future circa 1998

So I finished reading Red Dragon yesterday, and considering I'm a massive wimp and don't like spooky, I'm pretty happy with myself! The tension in this book was off the charts.

I loved the first game, but I won't be touching it for a while, at least. I don't know how tainted it is

A good tip is to never use Generative ai. No art is worth replacing just because you don't understand its value. Side note don't buy art from people who don't respect other fields

I just read White nights by Dostoyevsky. I would describe it as Russias most anxious man speaks to a woman for the first time and has big emotions It was fun though! The dialog in particular was very dramatic and theatrical. The overuse of exclamation marks is very relatable to me.

I just finished strange buildings, and while there was some suspense throughout I found the ending really underwhelming.

I know consume has bad connotations now, but I've been using it for ages and quite like it. I eat the art. I consume it, and it becomes a part of me. Omnomnom

As a new Harry Potter trailer makes the rounds, it bears repeating that there’s no way to watch this show without supporting J.K. Rowling’s bigotry and the structural violence she’s inflicting on the trans community.

theverge.com

There is no ethical consumption of HBO’s Harry Potter series

You can’t without supporting Rowling’s transphobic bigotry.

I just finished The One Within The Villainess and ahhhhhhhh its so pretty and so fun. If the anime is even half as good it will still be one of the best Vilaness anime.

This shit is so fucking gross. Why is it that the NHS will refuse help to women if there's even the slightest chance that it will affect having a child.

I've read 3 books this month, and for my slow read dyslexic ass I'm actually really proud of it! If I counted the little Arsene Lupin, then it would be 4... fuck it 4 books!

I'm not interested in gta. I feel like nothing it can do will live up to the hype. Although from the trailer, it looks like they have tuned down some of the hyper realism that ruined Red Dead 2 for me. So that's cool

I'm about halfway through 1984, and it's the minute rebellions that really get me. The romance is very sweet, and the looming sense of danger that constantly hangs over them both is very tense. I also find it really interesting that Winston and Julia are very, very different people. Cont.

I realise I do a lot of things out of spite. For example, if someone else can do it, I'm sure I'll be able to do it eventually. Like, there's no question in my mind XD

MerriKiwi Unprofessional Youtubers @merrikiwi.bsky.social · 14/08/2026

Of all books, I didn't expect 1984 to get me this invested. With how it's spoken about, I expected it to be more dry, but the worldbuilding is really fun... in a horrible dystopian way XD

Off the back of this I would recommend watching some "girl anime" Anime has distinct demographics and much like western media, anime for girls and women are often overlooked. Anime for girls is called Shoujo and anime for adult women is called Josei I would highly recommend Princess Jellyfish!

I wanted to read some Arsene Lupin but don't own any of the books. I then decided to just print it out, creating this monstrosity. I did look up how to properly format a book but decided it was too much effort XD Anyway the first story is a lot of fun!

I promise I've seen over 350+ anime 😭👍 Also I am stretching with Saiyuki with being a josei series since its sequels and most of it's run is under that - despite the OG series being shounen.
