Close to one year in my role as ED of The Do More Agriculture Foundation here is Canada. What I know is this: how we tell a story matters. And I bring storytelling to every community where I get to facilitate our signature workshop Talk Ask Listen.

So proud. I was in Ottawa to accept the CAMIMH 2025 Champion award for community organization on behalf of The Do More Agriculture Foundation. I should have recorded my speech so I can remember what I said!

I’m thoroughly enjoying learning (slowly, painfully) how to use watercolours. I’ve been making bookmarks and I use them as gifts. It’s a satisfying way to practice creativity. It’s the process, not the outcome.

My latest #MassiePanoramicFarm project: a #WindPhone . Wind phones are ways to make the phone call you need to make, with someone who has passed, a call you wish you had made, or even a call to the future. #TelephoneOfTheWind
A wooden box with a roof and a glass door fixed to a tree. It holds a rotary dial telephone to be used as a telephone of the wind.A woman dressed in farm work clothes standing next to a wooden box affixed to a tree. The box holds a rotary dial telephone of the wind.Paper with handwriting that explains the wind phone. Telephone of the Wind. This telephone is connected to nowhere and everywhere all at once. Use it to call someone who holds a piece of your heart. Make the call that you wish you could have made. A telephone in the wind takes your voice exactly where you need it to go. No distance and no time is beyond the reach of the wind. Talk to the past, the present, and the future.

On Good Friday, extended family was out enjoying the farm, including walking my labyrinth. I love sharing it with friends and family.
A stone labyrinth on a farm in west central Saskatchewan. Six people can be seen walking the labyrinth, with two quads, some snow, and a slough in the background.

A freak spring storm moved through north of Saskatoon today. 0/10 do not recommend trying to find the road. So many were in the ditch. We were coming back from a funeral in Prince Albert and it was a total shock. #springstorm

In his 1969 Gronlid, SK Principal’s Message, my Dad opened with a quote from Josef Stalin: ‘Paper will put up with anything written on it.’ He suggests that the greatest difficulty confronting humankind is delineating substance from style & fact from fiction in selecting leaders.

Ok. So. That snowbank out there is well over five feet tall. (The driveway slopes downward). The work to clean a driveway is to be commended. Also I’m honestly considering buying a snowblower. I see they make them with great electric batteries now.

One of my superpowers is baking. Now being celiac means it takes special care, sometimes with disappointing results. Yesterday I made a beautiful batch of my favourite Christmas treat: cardamom buns. Success is measured in many ways; for me, it’s the taste of Christmas. ❤️

You know how someone is an important person/close friend? When you share something weird (‘I built a walking labyrinth on my farm’) and the reply is THAT’S SO COOL I LOVE LABYRINTHS and shares multiple pics of the ones they’ve walked in the past year. Shared weirdness is powerful.
