ell us about yourself!
Merimeik | she/her
Hello hello! I'm Meri, an illustrator with a love for fantasy, houseplants and emotionally taxing stories that stomp all over my heart! At least one of these things can be traced all the way back to Dragon Age.
How did you get into dragon age?
Back in 2010, a friend told me to check out Dragon Age since I enjoyed the story (and flirting) in Mass Effect so much. I wasn't sure about the gameplay at first as I was more used to action-shooters at the time, but five minutes into the mage origin and I was hooked!
Who is your favorite warden?
Isseya! Though Nathaniel is a close second <3

My contribution to the 2026 spring DABB, for 'The Princess and the Rook' (on AO3) by fiberpunk027 (on tumblr). A wonderfully comfy fic about family, and I hope my art is enough to convince you all to check it out! #dragonage #dragonagebigbang #dabb #kieran #alistairtheirin #morrigan

A Mucha-inspired illustration with a focus on delicate, scratchy lineart and warm, rich colours. In the center is a young boy (hesitant, clad in dark feathers and loose robes) and girl (confident, in a pale tailored gown with a long cape) on opposite sides of a circular frame, both reaching for a crown in the middle.

Framing the kids is wider gold frame with 5 smaller illlustrations (left-to-right): an envelope sealed with the Theirin crest; a rook with bright yellow eyes matching the boy's; the Inquisition symbol (an eye over a sword pointing down); an open storybook; a crest referencing the Grey Wardens' joining ritual.

In the top-left corner frame is a rookery tower; in the top-right is Redcliffe Castle viewed from the front; the bottom frame, partially covered by the feathers and cape from the kids, is full of roses. Behind all of it is a peaceful night sky with the light from the moon reflecting on the clouds. Separating the sky from the corner frames is a pattern referencing the engraved stone window frames of Weisshaupt Castle.

Detailed close-up of the top-right, featuring Redcliffe Castle

Detailed close-up of the center circular frame, featuring the rook

Detailed close-up of the bottom frame, featuring the boy's feather cloak overlapping the roses.

Another Green Lady! This time a garden knight of sorts. A guardian of the garden, if you will. #plants #plantart #houseplants #green #illustration #digitalart

An illustration of a lady knight holding a sword at her front, with bright white hair tied up in an oversized bun. She is wearing a laurel at the base of the bun, with a little extra branch sticking out to the side. Several houseplants spreading out from behind her. The overall image has rough, textured lineart and a monochromatic green colour scheme much like the plants she is poised to protect.

Please pay no attention to the mysterious eye. (ngl I'm kind of a fan of the original version with the eye. Might see if I can incorporate it into something else down the line) #dnd #d20 #warlock #goolock #timelapse

Great Old One Warlock! aka GOOlock hehe Timelapse on my profile! #dnd #d20 #warlock #goolock #ttrpg #digitalart

An illustration of a single D20 wrapped in spooky curling octopus tentacles. On the top and sides are several chunky melting candles. The whole arrangement is set on a thin rug, while mysterious dark clouds are rolling around from behind.

This one ended up being my favourite! Definitely has nothing to do with the plants and rustic herbalist vibes, promise!! (I am lying) Timelapse should be up in a minute! #dnd #d20 #artificer #alchemist #herbalist #ttrpg #digitalart

A glassy D20 rests on a metal stand, with a long single piece of parchment draped across its front. Behind it are some scrolls for spellwork, and a small sack holding bundles of herbs. In front of the dice is a square ink bottle, a simple bronze quill and a trio of tube-shaped potion bottles held together in a bundle by a belt.

Sometimes I get the urge to lock myself away in a cosy bathroom full of plants and pretend I'm in a fantasy greenhouse. Unfortunately my real one doesn't have nearly this many plants :( #plants #plantart #houseplants #snakeplant #dracaena #trailingplants #headphones #green #illustration #digitalart

Digital illustration rendered like a pencil drawing of a white-haired woman sitting on a tiled floor, back against a door, as she vibes to some music through her headphones. She's surrounded by a variety of potted tropical houseplants, and various trailing and crawling plants hanging from the ceiling and crawling along the wall and floor.

Do you ever just open a casual sketch, decide to 'lightly clean it up' and then suddenly six hours of rendering have gone by? Anyway, here's some mild houseplant wish fulfillment! #plants #plantart #houseplants #monstera #trailingplants #illustration #digitalart

Digital illustration rendered like a pencil drawing of a white-haired woman in overalls walking through a dense collection of houseplants. She's smiling while gently caressing some variegated monstera, as one does. She is surrounded by a curtain of trailing plants including pothos and string of hearts, while around her legs are oversized ferns and Chinese money plants.

Made some very minor edits so I can shamelessly repost this in a more screen-friendly viewing size. #plants #flowers #keyboard #keeb #illustration #digitalart #plantart

Three individual mechanical keyboard switches each with a matching bouquet of roses, sakura and lavender behind them. The background is a simple light checkered pattern.

For the Common Good - watercolour and acryla gouache on paper, with some small digital touchups. For Magic: The Gathering's Bloomburrow Still one of the most complex paintings I've made. Definitely the best pumpkin I've painted.

An array of plants and animals burst forth from a magic spell

I’m at my mom’s and I found a very old attempt at portrait painting… there is no date, but I didn’t start to paint until after I finished school, so I was probably in my early twenties. Please admire my innate talent 😂 /s or - better - the almost twenty years of painting faces that came after 💪

Weird old attempt at a portrait… I think this is very diluted acrylics??

An oil painting I did at the end of last year

We got keyboard switches! We got plants! We got little scribbly stars! A niche within a niche. Pretty excited about these stickers :) More close-ups in the replies #plants #flowers #keyboard #keeb #illustration #digitalart

Close-up of the corner of a light pink keyboard switch levitating in front of a group of five-petaled sakura (likely the oyamazakura variety but this artist cannot truthfully remember).

Cover art I did for 'Necrobane' written by Daniel M. Ford, and published by Tor Books

Three adventurers facing right, weapons drawn, trudging through snow covered trees. The figure in the front is Aelis, dark hair blue cloak, black gambeson, with a short leaf shaped sword drawn. The middle figure is Maurenia, an elf woman with a rapier pointed high, wearing a studded leather armor. The figure in the back is Tun, a tall half orc with a large walking stick that doubles as a weapon. He has blonde hair, braided on the sides, long and unbraided in the back, and held in a hiar tie on top. He wears a giant fur cloak over a tunic.

"Shaladrassil" - Acryla gouache on paper I'm excited to share my first-ever card for Hearthstone, for their new expansion, "Into the Emerald Dream"! I've wanted to work for Blizzard ever since my WoW days, so this was an amazing opportunity. The original painting will be looking for a home shortly.

Shaladrassil, the world tree, being corrupted. One side is fraught with the nightmare's destruction, the other half is green and vibrant.

An acryla gouache painting on the back of an "Rest in Peace" artist proof. I love painting sleeping beauties 🌺

Sleeping beauty rests with a flower in her hand, its petals falling.

Hi I love easy plants. Like these ones, which can tolerate low light but not necessarily thrive. Unless you're just lucky like that? #plants #houseplants #plantart #illustration #digitalart

Three wooden shelves with various houseplants resting on them, against a beige checkered background. In order from left to right, they are: a heart philodendron, a snake plant, a philodendron propogation, an english ivy, a snake plant propogation, a calathea, another philo prop, a chinese evergreen, a cast iron plant, a peace lily and a zz plant.
