I’ve never seen my connection to deer as anything deeper than a long-held appreciation and fascination. What I felt after eating that piece of meat wasn’t guilt, nor disgust. I quickly went to the bathroom and cried for several minutes. I then left without returning to the group I was eating with (my partner helped excuse me). 150
