On my perpetual Buffy rewatch, just yesterday I watched "A New Man," where Giles is turned into a Fyarl demon. Incredible physical comedy by Anthony Head, but the part that gets me most is right at the end, when Buffy's about to slay him, and she stops because she recognizes his eyes. I would, too ❤️

Heartbroken to finish the Cal Hooper trilogy but there could be no better finale than The Keeper. In the end, this was a story about family and community being what we make of them, a place where our briars are allowed to grow, people who are willing to brave our sharpest, darkest parts.

My new afternoon ritual is a thermos of jasmine silver needle green tea, slowly parsed out in a little cup over hours, while working to a “Hyper Focus: Beta Waves for Concentration” playlist. Post-lunch slump, who is she!!

My desk, on which you’ll find a laptop, a notepad and pen, a small floral mug, a teal MoMA tea flask, a hedgehog desk calendar and crystal figurine, a Jane Austen Lego set and a ten pound note with Jane on it.

Project Hail Mary’s one of my favorite books of the past five years and Lord, Miller and Gosling made a damn near perfect movie out of it. Plus between this and The Martian, it’s clear that Drew Goddard is the best possible writer to adapt Andy Weir.
