Anyone see/hear The Rest is Politics this week? Rory Stewart incandescent with rage at Farage. Good on him.

In France, they are going to let communes install their own speed radars. Can you imagine that in the UK? Civil war within days.

Chapeau to @mrjamesob.bsky.social for NACHO - Nigel always chickens out - when there's any chance of being asked a "difficult" question.

It is a truth, universally acknowledged, that two wires in close proximity will become knotted together without any human intervention.

Podcasters, pontificators and pundits. This phenomenon of 'journalists and ex politicians', pissed on their own self-importance, lounging back in their chairs trying to manufacture clicks for their website, substack, or podcasts by relentlessly slandering the elected PM, is getting rather tedious.

So, the visit by JD "kiss of death" Vance went well then. Perhaps we should invite him to all our countries shortly before elections.

@mrjamesob.bsky.social Have you come across Heather Cox Richardson: US Historian on YouTube? She is certain that Trump has dementia & that + malignant narcissism is a very dangerous combination. So reasons? All of the above!

So, Farage apparently says that Iran is more of a problem for us than Russia. That may be true in the very short term, but you'd have thought, given his previous allegiances, he'd have been better off keeping his mouth shut.

How about ditching BBC News altogether? Hourly bulletins could be provided by Reuters/AP. Get rid of the News channel too. Would save loads of money, and it doesn't offer anything original these days. Keep the World Service. Good journalists would find other work easily.

Politics is a mess. I'd like to see - Proportional Representation - MPs paid more but NO other jobs allowed - Parties funded by the state (per candidate put forward), and no donations from business/unions/individuals or anywhere - miscreants immediately barred for life Any other suggestions?

There’s a v cynical media and political blindspot in the Epstein shitshow. A feeding frenzy to get rid of Starmer while red-carpeting Farage into No10. Who is named in the files. As is Candy, Reform’s treasurer. With Bannon. And Brexit. Don’t cry about abuses of power and then do nothing about him.

We all like a bit of cash, but there are some who value money far more highly than their integrity. Chris Mason always looks a bit desperate to me, as though Gibb whips him every night to big-up Reform and do-down Labour.

Has anyone noticed a tendency on BBC News to refer to left wing governments or parties as "leftists"? They don't refer to conservatives as "rightists," so what's going on? I even thought I heard it once on the World Service this morning. More Robbie Gibb?

@mrjamesob.bsky.social you need to do more to share what Labour do. The work they are doing is transformational & is setting up the foundations up for a much better future. Yet you do tend to be negative & rarely focus on the positives. Let's see more shows looking at policy not personality.

I'm confused. If we are all to be identified by the biological sex we were at birth, and transwomen are not to be allowed in "female spaces", surely that means transmen will be, even if fully transitioned, muscled up and bearded. Is that what the GCs want?
