A big thanks to @sharonhodgsonmp.bsky.social for pushing this forward. Banning sales of energy drinks to under-16s is an important step towards protecting children's health. To achieve enforcement by April 2027, legislation must be laid as soon as Parliament returns from summer recess. ❌🥤

🗣️ The Committee's message to Government is loud and clear: it is time to stand up to industry and move forward with a bold new approach to tackling obesity. This is vital for cancer prevention given that obesity is linked to 13 cancers and is the 2nd leading cause of preventable cancer in the UK.
