10 years ago my career as an author of trans lesbian scifi began with a 2 page Star Trek fan comic featuring a trans woman commanding an NX class starship at the outset of the Romulan War. 6 panels, 2 pages, way too much dialogue and way too little visuals. Today, I remade it in 3 panels & 2 pages.

Panel 1: Low Earth Orbit, 19 June 2156. An Earth Starfleet inspection pod rises from the homeworld.

"Raven Control, this is Orbital 8, request inbound clearance, over." "Orbital 8, Raven Control. You're clear for approach and docking. Welcome to challenger."

Panel 2: inside the pod, a bespectacled woman in glasses, her hair tied back in a bun, looks up through the windows. She wears the rank of captain. Her hat says NX-03: Pro Aris et Focis. She thinks "Deep breath. You got this."

The inspection pod carrying Captain Brennan rises toward Challenger, the massive starship sitting in drydock. In the distance is Luna and stars. The text reads:
