Nookacabra @meganook.bsky.social · 06/10/2026I never thought about this, but then I've not played enough Cthulhu to hear it said aloud, and I'm a white guy. Nookacabra @meganook.bsky.social · 06/10/2026It's not censorship though. Consideration isn't censorship, and choosing to use an alternative name in an IP isn't a ban. In many ways this article is click bait, playing on people's fears of censorship and 'woke' authority (which it isn't either) 040
Nookacabra @meganook.bsky.social · 05/10/2026I also like the different in world perspectives on what's going on. Kind of like how different communities in The Walking Dead had different names for the zombies... Walkers, biters, rotters, empties, geeks etc 010
Nookacabra @meganook.bsky.social · 05/10/2026It kind of bridges Control and Resonant, in that it shows what the rest of the FBC have been doing since The Oldest House went into Lockdown. What is known, what is unknown etc etc. I played it through on easy cos I'm a wuss 110

Nookacabra @meganook.bsky.social · 05/10/2026I've just finished Alan Wake 2, which is not combat heavy at all, but it is literally the best game I've ever played. There's a FBC dlc - the Lake House - which is very thematically Control, just without the psychic kick assery. I'd highly recommend it. I'll be getting Control Resonant ASAP 110

Nookacabra @meganook.bsky.social · 17/09/2026I'd rather play something, and pay money for something, that actively supports traditional ways of play rather than throttling features behind a paywall. You're right, we still can play with pencil and paper, but the current D&D model is deprioritising that in favour of a SaaS model 010
Nookacabra @meganook.bsky.social · 15/09/2026I usually have a single sheet of paper with 4 bullet points on it and that sees me through half the campaign.
