Also Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats ripped, as expected. Even better live than on record. Sounded huge.

Messa has been my musical obsession for a while, and they just happened to be playing on the last night of our vacation. Gonna be riding this high for a while.

Not a fun post to be making but I recently lost my job and need to ask for help financially. The ticket I got earlier this year has disqualified me from my old work, and while my passive income covers some things, rent is still beating my ass. Any and all help is appreciated🙏 paypal.me/KatyScary

I don't believe in ghosts, but if you generate an AI image of me being welcomed into heaven upon my death, I will find a way to become a ghost to specifically haunt you and you alone until your dumb ass turns to dust.

Today is the 40th anniversary of the release of Akumajō Dracula, aka: Castlevania in Japan on the Nintendo Famicom in 1986! I sadly didn't get anything put together for this special date, but did a short lore vid for the 35th anniversary in 2021! ❤️🦇❤️

Yup, I still have a ton of "back pocket" riffs that I hold onto for when they might be needed.

110

Mega Beardo 💀 @megabeardo.bsky.social · 25/09/2026

Totally! A good reminder of why I write/record/perform music in the first place.

010

Mega Beardo 💀 @megabeardo.bsky.social · 25/09/2026

Exactly. I love throwing ideas around to see what sticks. But sometimes, what sounds cool in my head doesn't work in context of the song. And that's totally fine! Trash it.

Mega Beardo 💀 @megabeardo.bsky.social · 25/09/2026

Last night, I spent an hour writing and tracking harmonies for a guitar part. Ultimately, I decided they were unnecessary, and I scrapped them. I still enjoyed the process of writing the harmonies & the decision-making that led to scrapping them. Not a waste of time! All part of the art.

Yeah, Erik told me about your dumb neighbor. I will never understand it. This guy also spends 30-60 minutes a day whacking golf balls into a net. So thats a fun repetitive noise to hear every day.

Ah, cool. New neighbor is a "leaf blower every day because I'm bored" kind of guy.

I would recommend at least seeing The Rehearsal at some point. It shows just how dedicated to the bit he can be as he blurs the lines around reality. This Holmes doc feels like an even crazier version of that.

I'll be at Needle Drop Records at 1780 Monroe Ave. in Brighton / #Rochester, NY, on Tuesday, Oct. 13 @ 7 p.m. alongside a few other horror/weird fiction writers for live readings. I'll be reading from "TRANSCRIPT 322.77," my new story about high strange goings on in the Catskills.

Oh, totally. It was self-produced, so it slowed things down by about 6 weeks while it healed. But it came out great!

I rounded it out by breaking *another* fretting finger right when I was done recording. My ring and my pinky. That was a clumsy year haha.

110

Mega Beardo 💀 @megabeardo.bsky.social · 19/09/2026

I've been spoiled with past performers getting free passes, so I could go on a whim if I wasn't performing and crash on a floor or something. But they've stopped those passes this year. I'm gonna have to get back to VGM Con again.

Thomas Ligotti on what it's like to have a job.

The company retained its policy of not accepting resignations. It even extended this policy at some point and would not allow retirements. We were all prescribed new medications, although I can’t say exactly how many years ago that happened. No one at the factory can remember how long we've worked here, or how old we are, yet our pace and productivity continues to increase. It seems as if neither the company nor our temporary supervisor will ever be done with us. Yet we are only human beings, or at least physical beings, and one day we must die.
