Covariate-aware genomic prediction of blood metabolite profiles using multi-task neural networks
Circulating metabolites capture clinically relevant physiological variation and contribute to disease aetiology yet are mostly studied as biomarkers rather than prediction targets. Although genome-wid...

In our new study, we investigate how GWAS test statistics behave when a trait’s genetic architecture includes epistasis. We first model the bias mathematically and show via simulations how linear models can produce spurious significance (more in comments). www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...

Bias in genome-wide association test statistics due to omitted interactions
Over the past two decades, genome-wide association studies (GWAS) enabled the discovery of thousands of variants associated with many complex human traits. However, conventional GWAS are still widely ...

Our genetic kinship estimation tool “DeepKin” is now available! Our neural network models trained on simulated data work effectively on real ancient data from diverse backgrounds and often outperform available tools. @compevohumang.bsky.social onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/...

DeepKin: Predicting Relatedness From Low‐Coverage Genomes and Palaeogenomes With Convolutional Neural Networks
DeepKin is a novel tool designed to predict relatedness from genomic data using convolutional neural networks (CNNs). Traditional methods for estimating relatedness often struggle when genomic data i...

Female lineages and changing kinship patterns in Neolithic Çatalhöyük
Combining 131 paleogenomes with bioarchaeological and archaeological data, we studied social organization and gendered practices in Çatalhöyük East Mound (7100 to 5950 BCE), a major Neolithic settleme...
