When polishing presentations or proposals that were already in a really good state, GPT would find many more suggestions for changes than Gemini. Personally I'd only follow a few of them, but some people seem to prefer when everything sounds like AI.

I had the impression Gemini was much faster at writing code, than e.g. Claude. Like any really fast coder it would also be less thorough. So probably best left for simpler, clearly scoped and described tasks.

Which specs does the machine have, you run these models on? Could you imagine letting Qwen write all the code, after giving it detailed implementation plans (e. g. created with Claude)?

While I'd agree on that, attacking 3rd parties that are 'just' ignorant towards these statements or their effects, is one of the reasons why our society feels so split atm. Not everyone cares. That might be sad or infuriating, but maybe we should endure this inconvenience and focus on the author.

It's a business opportunity for them and (too) many don't follow or care about politics. It was most likely just ignorance.

I've labeled myself "Product Developer" for years already. Therefore Spec-Driven-Development feels quite natural to me. And while it took me some time to adjust to the changes in Software Engineering, I started to enjoy agentic, self-documenting, self-improving, AI workflows.

Yeah, I also like Claude's really thorough planning. Such plans can often be implemented by weaker models. I got some good - and relatively quick - results with Gemini 3.6/7 Though it frequently leaves someone obvious quirks in the code, which means it always needs a thorough (agentic) reviewer.

Have you identified any frontier model being currently better for specific tasks than others? Or are there just some variations that could boil down to context and prompting between the frontier models?

Won't change anything. They still would be subject to US requests and their gag laws, efficiently voiding any transparency companies would like to offer.

True, my bad. Wondering now if that changes anything, given they store all the data in the US.

Unfortunately still a US company. So while legally this might be an improvement (until the current regulation will once again be declared insufficient by a judge), technically the US government will keep the same access to the data.

Afaik Glyphosat is not suspected of causing cancer when sprayed onto crops weeks/months before the harvest (as intended). The actual risk it poses, is when handling it without protective gear (which shouldn't happen when following other EU regulations).

Their "solution" of collapsing (even unread!) comments and hiding them somewhere on the long page behind a "10 more comments" link is so horrible, as it often leads to people overlooking those.

I always assumed it has something to do with their data structure. Probably they don't store the code commented on redundantly in the DB, but link to the git diff. But in recent times it seems to be more of a JS frontend issue.

While all correct, I can't remember any time in the past when GitHub had no issues with PRs with over 60 or so comments... their page was rarely able to load and display them all.

What do you mean by "effectively no breaking changes" - that nothing broke for your projects? Cause breaking changes are mentioned in blog.rubygems.org/2025/12/03/4... and also for Bundler 4.

On dating apps it seems to be common practice to only chat with verified profiles, due to the large number of fake and scam profiles. But here there doesn't seem to be such pressure yet,as you said.

Andreas Finger 🇪🇺 @mediafinger.com · 18/12/2025
When your profile had verification I would know that... you run through some process to verify you are someone I don't know that uses a user name which may or may not match your real name. It's important, I guess.

The fact that a second strike like that in an armed conflict is definitely a war crime should not completely negate the fact that *there is no war* and ALL the strikes are cold-blooded murder. The whole chain of command are murderers.

Yeah, it's a tricky concept. I'd assume when generational trauma exist, it would only be fair to declare generational guilt. Though not as individual guilt, but as the responsibility of the society. And obviously it helps to classify the world and tell jokes. ;)

Restaurants often don't hand you a proper qualified invoice (which is numbered and enters the balance), but instead a "draft" (which looks almost the same, but never shows up on their balance). Only when paying by card, you create a papertrail and ensure this income will be taxed.
130
Andreas Finger 🇪🇺 @mediafinger.com · 11/11/2025
While this might be a reason why some people prefer paying with cash, that's definitely not the reason why business don't accept an alternative. A taxi driver once told me bluntly: "I already invoiced 1000€ in card payments this month, therefore I only accept cash now."
110
Andreas Finger 🇪🇺 @mediafinger.com · 11/11/2025
Evading taxes is so much easier, when taking only cash! (imo the main reason why most German restaurants, bars, taxis and kiosks still insist on cash.)

I prefer using the default let! - but declare them first in a block separated by blank lines from the let statements (below) and the optional subject statement (above). I find those specs very readable and keep the optional before blocks shorter.
