Flat colors for a character design, inspired by short eared owls. Birds make for the best fashion inspiration I swear. #characterdesign #conceptart #shortearredowl #digital #krita
A man walking forward while gesturing with his hands. He wears a cream and brown pinstriped sweater and slacks, and brown and cream striped scarf, and a brown coat with cream and brown pinstriped lining. His face is pale, with dark eyeshadow makeup and yellow glasses. his hair is light brown with darker tips, and four white locks, two of which sweep back.

i forgot to post drawings from previous flocking #paleostream which means there will be lots of drawings in one post! all roughly 30min, i worked on them a bit more after streams. info in alt :) #paleoart #sciart
Top: a digital drawing of a Dromaeosaurus pair in the snow. They're fluffy and just resting there, kinda like siberian huskies do. Curled into a ball, trying to save some body heat. One of them is alerted by something.

Bottom: a digital drawing of a Ceratosuchops standing in a shallow part of the river during the rain. It's standing with it's arms widen, and i have no idea what it's doing. Is it trying to threaten someone? Impress a fish? Or just being cool? Who knows. Top: a digital drawing of a lonely Cetiosaurus standing on the hill against the cloudy sky. There is some cloud iridescence happening on the background, a colorful spot in the middle of a stormy painting. I don't draw sauropods often, but there's something special about drawing them with the big clouds.

Bottom: a digital drawing of a little snake Renenutet on a branch, shedding its skin. The branch has a lot of moss and lichen on it, and the black and yellow snake is blending in with it. Little noodle of a creature.Top: a digital drawing of a Bathornis, the view from above. The bird is dead and is trapped in the frozen lake. Some parts of its body are below ice level, some are out, probably waiting to be scavenged by passing by animals. You can't see any of them in the picture, that's just my brain going wild. You're welcome.

Bottom picture: a digital drawing of a Quinkana going into the water. The camera is in the water, so you see it menacingly moving towards you, looking like a pale ghost under the water. There are some fish in front of the camera, they're quite peaceful. Can't say the same about Quinkana. It has some ill intent i'm sure. Top: a digital drawing of Acanthostega vibing in the shallow water. It's pale green! And has many little dots on its body! What a creature, honestly. I even gave it a little moustache. Kind of like those that catfish have, but shorter, was trying to play with some soft tissue there (I don't know if they could have it or not so that's just a little speculation). The background is kinda messy, just underwater piece with rocks, algae and the light coming through.

Bottom: a digital drawing. Behold - it's a Megaloceros! A melanistic one. Standing mysteriously on a hill, showing its pretty antlers. The background shows distant mountains partly covered in snow. I wish i could see something like that in person, to be honest. But what else i can do rather than just draw things and bringing them back to life once more

Rainbow wings. Illustration from Draco Minimus - a little book of little dragons. dragonsofwales.etsy.com/listing/1059...
A tiny dragon perched on a twig. Its wings are so delicate that they are almost transparent, with an iridescent rainbow-coloured sheen.

This guy and his dragon soul popped into my head some days ago and haven't left. Basic story premise for now is that a wizard long ago botched a ritual, ripping everyone's souls out of their bodies and turning them into dragons. #art #digitalart #dragon #lineart #characterdesign
Line art of a man sitting on the floor, with a dragon's head and neck hovering above his shoulder. The man has his hair swept back and tied at the nape of the neck, and is dressed in rather medieval-ish clothing, with a leather tunic held together at the front via 4 clasps, a belt tied around his waist, leather greaves and gauntlets, and a short cape clasped at the shoulder. The dragon has a long neck which is covered in scales of sharp glass. Many spines adorn its head and neck, and its snout is rather slender.

Halszky and Deinon artwork repost for this, but also 2 new ones. A (somewhat more recent) stretching Alberto and an old Utahraptor piece I still like the vibes of.
Two Halszkaraptor enjoy some time by the water. The female is perched on a shaded rock, the male is swimming in the sunlight. Both sexes have their plumage based on smew ducks. An Albertosaurus has a good big stretch and yawn. It's hide is ochre yellow with dark spots, and it has a pale underbelly. A grey feathered Deinonychus crosses a vibrant blue and green river via a fallen log.A Utahraptor eats a small ornithopod it has clutched in its talons. It's feathers are mostly orange with a pale underbelly. Its face is featherless and pale, sporting a dark eye stripe that merges into a dark, scarred muzzle. It is backlit by early morning light.

#ArtistChallenge If you this, share your program and #art! Got a couple personal pieces I haven't posted here yet, a concept art of my dragon character 'Bronzy', a golden dragon speedpaint, and another speedpaint of some foggy, cold cliffs.
The icon for the art program Krita.Concept art of a dark bronze dragon nicknamed 'Bronzy', who has copper accents on the horn and spine tips, underbelly, and along the edges of all the membranes on the body. They have blue eyes, two large horns, and large spines behind the eyes, on the craw, and adorning the crest in front of their eyes. Two tall sails run down their back and end at the hip, and a second set of sails starts at the cheek and attaches to the wing, the membrane of which runs down the whole tail. The wings are bladed at the leading edge, and all of the membranes sport spines, with the tail having 4 large thagomizers at the end.A golden dragon coiling around itself in flight and gleaming in the sunlight. It has a crocodile-like snout with protruding teeth, and nostrils set near its red eye, which themselves are surrounded by sharp scales. A three-horned crest sits behind the eyes, and it has a cobra like hood in the shape of a sun along its neck. A background speedpaint of some cold seaside cliffs. Dark, moss covered cliffs jut out of a teal green water. The closest spire of rock has the most detail, a second spire on the far right in somewhat fogged out, and far cliffs in the background are very washed out from the fog. The skies are grey and cloudy, adding to a bleak look.

The things in my head stare at me expectantly until I agree to pick up the pen and draw them. Sometimes they come back for seconds. And there are a lot of things in my head staring at me at any given point in time. The hand must draw.

Some HTTYD realism portraits. I am miffed after a certain trailer came out and Toothless's model is just the 3rd movie model with HD textures. Scale layout on my Toothless was inspired by mangrove vipers. Also gave him some of that pretty blue sheen the vipers have.

If you see this, post a Dino! Austroraptor painting I did on the heels of my other portrait. The skinny snouted raptors are just very aesthetic to play with. Pied, crested, and torresian kingfishers, agami heron, and several egrets were the main inspirations.

Heron-ish raptor painting, loosely based around Buitreraptor. Caped and tri-color herons along with reddish egrets were the main inspirations.

Commission for a friend, a carch attacking a spino, inspired by jaguar predation on caimans. I am really happy with how the scale detail turned out. Also plants are evil, especially mangrove ferns.
