here’s a photo of Clementine, who cannot possibly be comfortable, and yet. (she’s in a pantsuit because she had an allergic reaction to something and needs her inner hind leg covered; otherwise madam would never be clothed)
a white, brown, and black tabby cat wearing a plum-colored pantsuit with lavender piping and a velcro closure on the back, is curled into a half-ovoid shape on my—a human person’s—lap.

her head is curled in so the top is resting on my leg, and her tail is wrapped around her body so it’s touching her white “elbow,”
covering her left forepaw.

Iman + Mahmoud met their phone fund goal on saturday, they haven't received a thing. which is—sadly—quite usual; this family of 7 averages < $300 per month i can't do enough for them alone. Iman's most generous friends can't afford to support her by themselves. je vous en prie bit.ly/mahmoud-iman

the last donation for my friend Emad’s family was 5 months ago. Emad supports them, but the materials to winterize their very damaged home, plus supporting his sister + her 6 kids while her husband is in his 11th month of detention without charge, cost too much for him alone bit.ly/muhareb-family

an outdoor area demarcated by a metal fence on one side and plastic and cloth sheeting strung between poles on another. the sheeting is shredded and threadbare in many places. against one side, a large pile of stones; by the metal fence, a sapling.
the interior of the cooking tent mentioned in the post. it’s made from metal poles and white tent material branded all over with the blue UNICEF logo. the nylon is patchy, quite thin in places and falling down in others, with a number of holes. the age and poor condition of the material is evident because the sun shines directly through it, highlighting every weak spot a broader view of the outdoor area in the first photo. now we can see that the tarps are covering more of the same metal fencing that is uncovered on the perpendicular side, and more holes in and shredding on the edges of these tarps. they’re in quite poor condition after almost two and a half yearsa pile of long, thin, very rusty metal poles, like the ones used to string together the exterior tarps
